10 years ago maybe, but when look at what happened in Miami with the bullying scandal. I don't think there's any way a Coach would take such a risk and discriminate against a gay player, just because a star player is upset. Not sign him maybe, but to take him on and then do that? I just couldn't see that happening. In this social media age it would be everywhere and a coach would be collecting his P45 in no time.
Well you have actually brought up a different issue which could open another can of worms, although I think its unlikely because Michael Sam seems like a well grounded kid, but if he does get cut before the start of the season and makes a claim that he has been badly treated then its going to cause a ****storm. So taking him in the draft was a brave move considering the implications if he turns out to not be good enough for your team.

Just to add that at 249 he was some bargain to get. He is certainly a top 150 player imo from this year's class imo. He is very like Dwight Freeney and while he is not the conventional type of DE he looks like a guy that just gets it done no matter what.

In non-Sam news, Shayne Skov had been set to go to oakland, but they apparently changed their offer so he is now set to sign with San Francisco.

He seems set to stay in the bay area anyway.

Looks like Cleveland will sign Conor Shaw.

Leaving out the receiver, i think our UDFA's were better than the ones we drafted!!

So Mel Kiper gave the Jaguars an A grade overall for the draft, the tied best score of all 32 teams.

"The Jags need a new front office lol"

Still don't like the Bortels pick. Not when you're passing on the likes of Mack, and they could have picked someone like Carr up for a steal later on.

Me neither, I loved their draft apart from that though. They'll give Bortles a year to settle in and have provided him with weapons too so either way it seems they'll give him the possible chance.

My prediction, along with the Rams, to be the best "surprise team (good)" in our pre-season prediction thread.

If you feel like your franchise quarterback is sitting there, you take him.

I said myself I was uneasy with it at the time, but having seen just how confident Bradley and Caldwell are that he is the guy, I'm happy they took him.

In addition to giving the Jags draft an A, I would also like to give Bortles' girlfriend an A.

The Browns knew about the Josh Gordon thing for the past two weeks.

They respond by passing on the opportunity to draft Sammy Watkins.

    What?

They really made an arse of it. Manziel will either be a star or a massive bust and they give him nobody to throw to.

Seahawks were busy boys, snapped up 9 UDFAs:

University of Washington quarterback Keith Price
    USC strong safety Dion Bailey
    Montana linebacker Brock Coyle
Central Arkansas tight end Chase Dixon
    Penn State tackle Garry Gilliam
    Oklahoma guard Bronson Irwin
    Texas defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat
    South Carolina cornerback Jimmy Legree
Eastern Washington defensive tackle Andru Pulu

Couple of decent players in there.

Jeffcoat and Bailey my favourites from that lot. Jeffcoat another I'm surprised didn't get drafted.
