Not sure about online but when I rang the Carphone Warehouse this morning I was told there was 1 in their Rathmines Store and 8 in town. Be no harm to ring the CPW and they will tell you where the stock is.

I was down there yesterday and they said they had none and wont be getting any back. Was told the same in Ashbourne this afternoon, seems a bit odd.

I have a Nokia Lumia 520 that I bought in the US about five months ago. It is locked to AT&T. I thought I would be able to get the unlock code directly from AT&T just like I had no problem six months earlier getting an unlock code from TMobile for a Nokia Lumia 521. This time I was not so lucky. I pleaded with them, moving to Ireland etc. but no luck. They told me I'd have to be an existing bill-pay AT&T customer so then I had a friend (who's with AT&T) call on my behalf but still no luck.

I'd given up hope of getting the 520 unlocked, then saw your post. €8.99 sounds like a great deal. I submitted payment using a Visa card, then realized that they don't actually send you the unlock code but send you to a site where you can download something called "Nokia Code Calculator." I've done that but now I'm lost...

I've downloaded the file on my laptop. Was I supposed to download it directly to the phone?

I ran the calculator - Nokia, DCT 4 (this was preset, not sure about the other codes in dropdown), filled in IMEI, Country: USA, network: AT&T. Hit Calculate.

    Result:
    Model: Nokia (DCT4 )
    IMEI: <<matches>>
    Network: 31038000

This is followed by seven codes in the format #pw+xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx+1#

Haven't a clue what to do now. Looked at HELP and it says "Remove the SIM Card. Type the codes generated ..." Does this mean I need to enter ALL seven codes or is it a case of if the first one doesn't work then I need to go onto the second one, etc.?

You're meant to put in a non-Meteor SIM and turn it on. It'll then tell you that the SIM is not the right one for the phone or whatever.
You just open up the phone keypad then and put in the number.

Be careful though. If you put the wrong code in too many times, the whole phone will lock, as far as I know.

Has anyone on here actually successfully gotten this phone (Lumia 520) unlocked and fully working??

So you DID receive an unlock code by email? You didn't download and use the Nokia Code Calculator?

I have a choice between a TMobile SIM or the O2 SIM that I'm using in the unlocked Lumia 521. I'm guessing it doesn't matter which one I use.

Ye either of those will be suitable.

Let us know if it works. I'm curious to see if that site is compatible with the Lumia 520.

What phone did u get unlocked?

Snapped the last one in Cork City up earlier (apparently) down in Blackpool SC. I was told the nearest place (Mallow) had 2 and the next nearest place was Tralee. Was delighted as I got to chat to a hotty that sold it to me too.

I tried a Tesco Sim and it asked for an unlock code. Popped the Meteor sim in and its working fine.

Still trying to get used to the lack of apps compared to Android but the camera is actually ok (light permitting) and there is no lag. At all. Any idea how to put Windows 8.1 on it without voiding the warranty - I'm assuming that putting the dev's version of 8.1 will do that? I'm missing pull-down notifications a bit tbh.

Just had an email response from unlock-your-phones.com:
Thank you for you choosing us to assist you with the unlocking of your phone.

We apologise that on this occasion we have been unable to obtain an unlock code for your phone using the imei number supplied.

The next option is to unlock the phone using the software available in our members area.

If none of the software or advice in our members area assists you with unlocking your phone, you have a right to a full refund as stated in our guarantee.
So no luck for me with the phone locked to AT&T, though it may work for the rest of you with the Lumia 520 on Meteor.

I just got the exact same email. I wonder what the chances of a refund are?

Very good phone overall for the price. Only niggle for me is slight light bleed around the edges of the screen, and its also very reflective & loves finger prints.

It seems u can get this phone for 80 Euro on the o2 website. if u have a spare sim u can switch to o2. Promotion code is MAY14RE to save 20 Euro off original price of 100.

Would work out the same as 50 + 30 unlock fee but you would end up with an o2 locked phone

I'm 99% sure it WON'T void your warranty, especially with a Nokia Phone, seeing as their Devices division is now a PART of Microsoft, who deliver this update.

Its not hacking, jailbreaking or rooting. This is an almost final code of an update that will be officially rolling out to all existing 8.0 handsets in June. This is just a preview for "developers" (something like 1.5 million "developers" have already previewed 8.1, lol).

If youre looking for any particular apps and cant find them, let me know and I'll try to tell you some quality alternatives or third party apps. Or even just a list of apps in general!
