Hi everyone. I'm looking to buy a €300 item on amazon and I'm just a bit worried as the third party seller only has one 5 of 5 feedback. Should I trust them?

The item I want is €300 in shops too but the one in amazon is a limited edition.

Also worried about this little bit:P4FgC.jpg

Used but new and sealed? Are they trying to cover for if the packaging was discovered that it was resealed or something?

"new and sealed" is often a generic term used by online sellers, the item is usually perfect nick and hasn't been used but probably has been opened and then re-sealed.

Best to email the seller and see what he says.

What are the chances that the sale is genuine though? I know the seller would probably respond to the question about the item being new or not but probably will tell me that it is genuine even if it wasnt..

How is amazon's service when dealing with 'fake' stuff? Heard ebay was **** about these things so I'm doing even more research as I haven't ever used amazon before

Post a link up if you want people to get a good look and better idea.

Some things are more prone to be fake than others.

I wouldn't be concerned about it being described as New but listed as Used - Like new. Amazon restricts certain sellers from selling New items in certain categories.

Buyers on Amazon are very well protected. There are very few risks. If you ever notice something wrong when you receive your item get in touch with the seller and then with Amazon CS if the seller doesn't get back to you. They will handle the matter if the seller doesn't.

Some categories are restricted for selling as New for 3rd party sellers. It might due to a brand requesting only official resellers to be able to sell as New. Authorised resellers need to contact Amazon to get the restriction lifted.

It's difficult to tell though without knowing the item's category

I sold a £300 item on Amazon when I had one feedback rating.

The buyer sent me an email afterwards to say he was delighted with the product, the packaging and the service. On Amazon it's hard enough to get feedback so that was a nice touch. I'm glad he took a chance on me.
