That's mad money for what it is. It's an SE spec, with not much else to shout about to be honest. Mileage is on the low side granted, and it does look clean. But that engine is just not worth it in that car. It will guzzle fuel, and for the difference in tax price a 525 would make more sense.

Looks like a better deal....does that ad say a full years tax too

I'd have this one over the 04 one every time, though it'd be a bit cool to have an 04 plate E39.

    Full years tax and everything!!

Ah I never said I was going to buy it, just happened to be a clean E39 for sale by a dealer near me so I said I'd take it for a spin while waiting to go into work. Very happy with it. I would prefer the 525 but there isn't much of them around at all, I was happy enough with the 2.2 anyway myself.

Unfortunately not. Being a named driver limits my test driving capabilities to Dealers. I loved that SE though.

Oh I'm in no way discarding the M-Sport, I'd prefer one, I just now know that if I can't find an M-Sport in the spec I want then I'd be very happy with the SE.

Drive an M-Sport with good shoes around a few twisties you'll quickly change your mind. An SE is just sloppy in comparison.;)

Just weighed the dog he is 2 now so i hope fully grown.

    6 and 3/4 stone. Jaysus.

If he keeps growing he may eat me :(

The SE I test drove today had Continentals and Pirellis on it and handled great. To be honest I wouldn't be too pushed on the difference in handling as most of my driving is on Motorways/N roads.

Anything is gonna handle great in comparison to a Yaris dude. I've told you this already but sure it's up to yourself what you buy. An M-Sport is a completely different car to drive than an SE.

You seem to be taking it the wrong way, I agree with you that it's probably the better car but to me, with my driving route/style I wouldn't really notice day to day I'd say and until one comes up for sale in a Dealer in reasonable range I can only judge by the SE.

Test drive a Sport before you buy.

I used car clinic there before when my alternator packed in. Reasonable and seem sound enough. Dropped me to work and all.

Subtlety! That's what I want this car to be all about, I have one in the front too above the tax disk so i dunno where that's going permanently but it's staying there for now
