Lallana is quality and football wise makes perfect sense.

I would worry but that he might suffer from the big club transition like say Joe Allen, Henderson etc had at the start, or Downing who never seemed to fitted in.

again there is nothing to suggest this will be the case but I didn't think that either with some of the above.

Not worried about price or wages as I let the Liverpool accountants look after that. (Don't know why fans get so wrapped in that, when a player is a success fees and wages are forgotten).
Because when they don't work out (think Carroll, Downing, Aquilani, Jovanovic etc) we've pissed our transfer and wages budget down the drain and can't afford to replace them. If we had oil baron owners it wouldn't be a problem but we don't. We need to get our signings right. There will always be failures for unexpected reasons but we have to do our homework carefully and get our transfers right financially.

I think he'd fit ok, he'd be allowed to play his normal game more or less.
But I agree with an earlier point, i'd be disappointed if we can't find a better player for that kind of money. Kono was going for less than that, and he's younger, had greater international and CL experience, and probably a higher ceiling.

I think the club is in better hands now and is not giving out silly fees and wages and none of those would have been deemed silly if they had been successful.

Rodgers interview this morning...and a quote to put the season in perspective
If we do finish second, we’ve finished second to the highest wage bill in sport.

Highlights the overachievement. Hope we can push on next season.

Lallana's hair is fcuking serious, though. I'd gladly part with the 25 million.

The hair is worth £10m alone...

I think Lallana is more than a one season wonder and he would be great for us.

He has been too consistent over his career, granted in lower leagues.

Also, Lallana Liverpool has a nice ring to it with all those 'L's. So he'd be an L of a signing (Sorry).

Not worried about price or wages as I let the Liverpool accountants look after that. (Don't know why fans get so wrapped in that, when a player is a success fees and wages are forgotten).

But when players aren't a success, fans go on about the price for years.

He will be a great signing, he is strengthening the weakest of the 4 attacking positions ie Coutinhos, he can also play out wide so provides additional cover,
Kono will also be great purchase for the wings, both will be great additions(if we get them)

City had Fernandinho, Negredo, Jovetic, Clichy, Lescott, Richards on the bench the other night.

While we have the likes of Aspas and Moses.

Serious achievement to be even competing with them.

Speaking of Richards, would he be worth a punt?

For the record, i think Muller is a donkey but thats just me. Martinez on the other hand is exactly what we need.

    Really?

Has a 1 in 3 scoring record for both Bayern and Germany (Top scorer in the 2010 WC).
    Has a matching assist record.
24 years of age, 6 foot 2, can play anywhere across the attack.

We should WISH we could attract a player of that calibre...

A lot of people here think so, I don't see it. For me, he is Wisdom +4 years.
hasn't shown that he is likely to improve.
A succession of England managers have passed him by, that is not coincidence...

Was that not due to his injuries tho? He looked like a beast for a good while and then bam.

If you were England manager would you prefer him or Johnson? :P

I would be happy to add Lallana to the squad once the appropriate additions to defence and midfield are added also.

Konolyanka should be added also to give extra attacking options.

And Muller would be a star addition to the side, he would be a player that would convince Suarez to remain at Anfield.

Talks that Fabregas could be left go from Barca, surely Liverpool would have an eye on that if he was available

I don't think he'd go anywhere but Arsenal, he seems like a loyal guy. More likely he'll stay at Barca.

If we're signing full backs, they need to be technically good.

Our full backs almost play like wingers at times especially when Rodgers uses the diamond.

I would love Lallana, what a class act. He genuinely would be perfect for us. I have no problem paying 20M for him, especially considering he would only be getting about 50k a week in ages. Sign him up!!

If he moves for £20M and his agent only gets him 50K a week - he needs a new agent!

Fabio Borini is hoping to be given a chance at Liverpool next season after impressing on loan at Sunderland.

"Liverpool need a bigger squad because you can't play four competitions with the same 11 players," Borini told the Daily Mirror. "But it is now down to the Liverpool point of view and their sporting director. It is not down to my words.

"It depends on what Liverpool say. I can say anything definite now because anything is possible. There is a World Cup coming up so a lot depends on the national team and whether I am selected, then see what is happening."

"It has been a great season," added Borini. "I've had 39 appearances after a year when I was injured.

"It was a hard season and the hardest I've ever had because we have been constantly fighting, but this builds your character.

"It makes you a lot stronger. You learn how to suffer and how to get out of hard situations and that builds you and gets you ready for anything.

"I have always thought I was a Premier League player. Liverpool wouldn't have bought me otherwise. The injuries I could not control. This season I was injury free and I've showed I can play."

He explained: "I didn't expect the red, because I thought I'd got the ball. But when I look back, I've got the ball but I've gone over and caught Nasri quite high up. I couldn't have expected anything else really.

"It wasn't a malicious tackle. I just wanted to get the ball back. It was the last minute of the game, and I felt if I'd have won the ball there, that could have been it really. We could have broken and kept it up the field.

"But I overran it, and I tried to make up for it a bit too much.

"I've been over it in my head a fair few times, especially in the first couple of days. That night, I was sat there thinking: 'Why did I do that?'

Glad to have him back for the final game. Hopefully he has a good one and can put the memory of the red card behind him

I'd like to see him back, at least until the January window and see what he can do. Now if a very good versatile backup striker pops up on the cheap and is a better option than Borini, he may have to be shipped out again....

Anyone of the opinion we should go for an experienced backup striker for next season? Obviously nobody who will cost over 70k a week in wages but maybe someone like Diego Milito?
