Brutal but very funny. The biggest capitulation since Newcastle in the 90s. https://vine.co/v/M6MtJ3gTePl

I wonder will that tweet be deleted at some point.

I don't think the draw makes too much difference to be honest. Don't think we were ever gonna win it on goal difference and the chances of city losing at home to WHU or Aston Villa are probably only slightly longer than them drawing to one of them imo.

In fairness, ye had an absolutely fantastic run but the defeat to Chelsea left ye very vulnerable tonight.

Overall it has been a v good season for Liverpool and they would have finished ahead of United even if Ferguson was still in charge.

Once again ex Liverpool players on MOTD. BBC must be on some sort of bulk contract with them.

Looking forward to seeing them squirm shortly.
You're trying really, really hard to be clever but failing really, really badly. Do yourself a favour and toddle off to bed; you've got school tomorrow.

You mean the Carra who for all intents and purposes had been a liability for the past few seasons?

We, for the most part, got away with this style of play for 37 games. It's given us a season to savour and no-one was crying when we were piling on the misery against the likes of Spurs and Arsenal instead of sitting back.

nothing to do with sitting back and plenty have had reservations. Simple fact is 3 up with 11/12 minutes left and not winning isn't acceptable. A bit of nous and an organizer like Carra would have helped. We've had an amazing season with some beautiful attacking football but I wont let that blind me to our failings and nights like tonight. Have every faith that Rodgers will find that balance, seems to learn quickly

Wow, that's nice. Fine from the fans giving witty banter/spiteful stick, but from a football club?

Devastating the title chances has to end like that. Huge learning experience for Rodgers.

Onwards and upwards. Best football played all season.

I'd be embarrassed if our club came out with that kind of statement.

Some utter nonsense, 11 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw from 13.

Wouldn't be too hard on the defensive lapse. Gerrard aside, this is the first time most of these players have been involved in the business end of a season. The pressure on them over the last few weeks must have been unreal, and if they had a collective 10 minute brainfart, then it's understandable.

There's **** all exeprience in that side.

They say you have to lose one to win one.

What were they 11? 13? points ahead of Arsenal at one stage last season for fourth?

    Small time attitude from them

Just looking at MOTD, there were 8 players ahead of the ball when possession was lost for the 2nd goal. Criminal

So much grief in here tonight, but we're not in that much a different position to a few hours ago. A massive favour is still reqiured from outside our control. Making up the GD was never likely.

too soon to say , ITS NOT OVER YET ! ?

Agree with that, but closing out a game is easier said than done. Firstly, playing a defensive game is just something that we haven't done well this season. This kind of thing is learned and only comes about through practice. I am sure this that drilling the team defensively will top of the list for pre-season. Secondly, when you look at the personnel, we didn't have one player who we could have brought on that would have steadied the ship. That is also something I that will surely be addressed this Summer.

The real 800lb gorilla in the room is Lucas. He has not impressed under Rodgers this season and again tonight, he looked the weak link in midfield.

you don't need to play defensive.

just keep the ball for a bit. be able to take the pace out of a game when we need to.
