chrome wont open

hi for the past few weeks when I click on google chrome it wont open, the computer has to be restarted and then it normally works but its a few times every day, just wondering is there something I can do as it getting really irritating!
internet explorer opens no problem.

It also often crashes if I have a few windows open

Something on that thread that might help:

I opened the cmd and changed to chromes directory.
Opened chrome with this command: chrome --disable-gpu
This started chome at last.
In the browsers menu I opened the settings dialogue
There I opened the advanced settings on the bottom of the page.
On the very bottom there I unchecked the hardware acceleration.

thank you I'll have a look now, might be worth mentioning everytime I click 'restart and update' the updates fail..
