    14's were €100 more than 15's?
    defuq?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

prices seem very competitive, would love to see a similar list a decade later. interesting the 15"s are cheaper than the 14"s.

Pre-wiring for a phone kit. Saab used to offer that too.

    Window airbag = curtain airbags,

And with the 15s you had to pay extra for the tyres. I remember that from 2000.
Sporting was only barely more than an ELX with alloys and new tyres.

Speaking of options, one of the options on the 147/156/gt was nuvola blue, a pearlescent paint that is absolutely beautiful. It was first used on the alfa nuvola, a prototype car that sadly never went into production (2.5 v6 biturbo fwd).

Most of dealer demonstration cars were this colour. Sadly that was about it, due to the price for said paint job....a whopping 2500 on the 147 and 2900 on the Gt.
00D156 is currently sitting in the scrap yard in kilcock, and had this paint job and beautiful tan leather at one stage

Speaking of alfas, I sat at home watching this go for a steal tonight

Really didn't like the paint on that 156 if I'm honest, probably my least favorite Alfa colour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,551 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Those flippy alfas looked great until you got any repairs done

They sure did!! Look dreadful after though. I feel like it was quite common on the 156, or maybe they just stood out! I remember seeing one in the carpark of a bike shop when I was getting a new bike when I was little! Funny the things you remember :o

In other news, is it bad that I regularly check done deal for my Levin?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

i was like that with the vitz. you're better off not checking... in 3 or 4 months you'l find it, see that it's in ribbons and wish you hadn't.

I have an Alfa price list from June 2000, now that definitely outlives most Alfas! :pac:

The 166 Super was £42900 or €54471 in the day..... There were options too such as the amp and cd changer, sunroof, heated seats..... Pearly paint was a £1550 option, yeouch!

I don't think it will if the guy who bought it is doing what he said he would be doing with it. I would say it's covered is swirls again but what can you do. The strange thing is that it should still have tax and NCT from when I sold it but cars ireland doesn't know anything about it

I don't really miss the car, I just want to see it again (gay and all as it sounds :pac:)

The chap who bought me 520 came back to me on Sat wondering would I sell him what he thought was a 2.8 engine in the other E39..... He got some shock when I showed him what it was! :p

Apparently he has the clutch in and is sorting out a few other niggles, it's almost back on the road again. I'd love to see it driving about, it's fairly local to me :D

    cheeky :P

    was it a performance clutch?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,792 ✭✭✭Ded_Zebra

    cheeky :P

Well it performed better than the slipping one that was in it :P

Ah there was a fair bit left on it. The old clutch died when an ape of a mechanic in wicklow roasted it while I watched :mad::mad:

New clutches were €350 and I wanted to sell the car, I think I payed €80 for a clutch from a guy that was breaking one. Standard Toyota job AFAIR.

I won't name and shame publicly but he's based on the south quay in Wicklow town.

I would be 100% up for that! my exams end on the 26th of May so I think any time after that suits me. I;ll need to check the calendar though, wouldn't want to miss it!

Should there not be the actual phone kit on the list too?

This was back in the day pre Bluetooth when different phones had different kits and driving while on the phone was ok!
