I honestly think its because of accountability. It's easier to blame luck than poor decision making.

I have Chester. I transferred him in ahead of Rosenior when I wanted a Hull defender. Rosenior would have garnered me far more points. Now Chester is out for the season.

That was my decision though so just have to get on with it.

If luck played that big a part in the game, why are we bothering with forums like this? There's little point doing research and having strategies if luck has such a huge role to play.

I would argue that strategy is definitely legit but that luck is a factor--this week has been a prime example. Injuries, etc., are completely down to luck--granted you take that risk choosing players who are only back from injury i.e. Aguero.

Still, luck does play a part though accountability is certainly a necessity too.

just to clarify I dont go into the whole luck thing in general as you make your choices and some weeks you get the breaks and some weeks you dont. This week though it was next to impossible to choose your players/captain with any real certainty of gametime.

Salah looks to be my ace with Ramsey out!

I'd say I'm the only one happy to find out Ramsey didn't play, I have Salah to come in, just hoping Nowich play like they did last week.

Ha no Rooney, Ramsey, Azpil. I'd be happy to hit 40 points this week

No Azpilicueta and Ramsey means I get Colback coming off the bench with 3 and another game to go, and also Williamson coming off the bench with 6. Could be worse :pac:

FT 1-0, managed to drag my overall score over the 30 point mark

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,268 ✭✭✭IsMiseMyself

2nd place has Naismith subbing in for Azpi.

    :pac:

This week is my season going down in flames. Yesterday I was annoyed, today I find it funny. I lose, I lose. FPL has been fun in its own way--an interesting hobby certainly.

Is there a bonus point given if the goal scored is the match winner?

So even though giroud and mert are currently on the same bps, giroud will still get an extra bps and thus 3 bonus pts?

Mert getting BPs makes up slightly for no Ramsey. Lets hope Terry can do the same!

Luck plays a small part I agree. I still believe that it more than often works itself out over the course of the season.

As I've said previously, the lads in work discussed luck in the game one year. As was pointed out and agreed then, if luck played such a large part you wouldn't have the same people in and around the top five every year no matter what way the season went.

You listed 4 players above as bad luck this week.

Rooney - we knew about the injury on Friday and BBC said they understood he wouldn't play.

Aguero - he's made of glass lately.

Chester - the max you'll probably miss out on is 2 points. They are safe and I can't see them getting much Tuesday.

Ramsey - most active players have him so him being missing is hitting the majority.

Demichelis - you're only down a point and he has a game to go.
