My first broken heart. I still choke up when I hear that.

What an absolutely superb song! :)

There's something about Waits being able to convey a lost love. He can do it so very well

It's not particularly one of my favourite songs but in one of those strange coincidences it was playing in the background when I got the news my Mam died and also when a good friend committed suicide.

Needless to say it always gives me the shivers.

Sweet Jesus I'm so sorry to hear that.

I feel bad posting this one following that, but here's mine ~ and she's still very, very precious to me (always will be).

    Can't embed on my phone.

'I cried for you' by Katie Melua. Reminds me of a much loved friend who took his own life, convinced that nobody loved him, when so, so fcuking many did.

Yeah Martha is another one, I remember hearing that he was very young when he wrote Martha, 19 or something and I was like whoa,

This is mine, it made me think about someone a long time before we got together, then we got together, then we broke up and I still think of her and the 'simpler' times before we got together

Seriously cringey but When You Say Nothing At All.
My fiancée at the time broke up with me then we went to see the bloody movie it was in.
I sat with tears rolling down my face holding her hand.
She moved out that night to live with a guy from work.

Mine is always Open Your Eyes by Snow Patrol. It reminds me of me and my boyfriend being teenagers and being completely ridiculously in love. We're a bit older now and it always reminds me of that time of 99s and running through sand dunes in the p***ing rain but not giving a crap about getting wet to the a***!

I can't listen to anything from the Arcade Fire album 'Neon Bible'. It was released just as my life went from dull and lonely to being over the top in love with a special lady! Moved in together, emigrated together...we listened to it a lot around then (2007).

Now, I'm still with her! But it's weird listening to it now, it was a very odd time where everything was flipped upside down, in good way. I suppose I just miss that "honeymoon" period, plus we were younger and has less worries. Great times.

Phil Collins - Against All Odds - was the song for my lost love.

John Mayer - Your body is a wonderland - a romantic nite with a very sexy man

Dave Matthews Band - Crash into me - a great night of sex with a different sexy man

The Shins - New Slang - a lovely night just kissing and holding another sexy man

I miss having a sexy man around.
