There was a bird watching slot on earlier. I wonder did Frank apply for one of those jobs having previous experience.

    They may as well be.

Interestingly only Ray Burke did time.

    Bankers walk.....

Yes, Ray Burke and Liam Lawlor, were the only ones who did time, out of all that lot, and even that's was quite short, as far as I remember.
Tom Gilmartin's son came across very well tonight, did his dad proud, in my opinion.

So, there's such a thing as an uncorrupt politician?

To be honest, I think a lot of them do their best and could earn more money outside the Dail.

But there are a significant number of pricks who are just out to feather their nest.

Jeez, wouldn't have thought George Hook would pick Skid as a username...

Padraig now wearing Dunnes Stores sports gear. Bloody hell.

Next he will be wearing those "Strider" 2 stripe Adidas style runners on the golf course that Dunnes did in the 80's, proper recession footwear.

Tom Gilmartin's shocking story of corruption was just the prelude to how Ireland ended up bankrupt - planners & politicians taking bribes from developers to get planning permission for massive building projects.
When Tom Gilmartin wouldn't pay bribes they all turned against him and stonewalled his efforts. Horrific story and there's so little about now

Very interesting and disturbing the corruption in Ireland. As in all corruption, most of what goes on never is disclosed.....a bit like drug smuggling. Most drug smuggling gets through without being found out or disclosed - same with corruption. Very hard to prove individuals got brown envelopes or a fancy holiday abroad in return for a favour.

Interesting how Mr. Gilmartin and others found so much corruption here and none to speak of in England, where they had vast experience too.

Lawlor was for contempt and Burke for failing to return tax returns, no? Got off scot free for taking the bungs and facilitating the corruption

Oh, why bother. Dropping oflahero minor to the creche on the bike, i'm fed up with cars using the one way road beside it the wrong way (lights avoidance), breaking the red up on churchtown rd, breaking fifty, and on the phone half the time. But hey, I wouldn't be so crass as to whine about a TV ad looking out for the safety of car drivers.

Now why not let's just soak up tubs & co instead shall we.
