Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7...

I have been looking at buying a new camera and have been narrowing down to best mirrorless or compact camera. Has anyone any experience of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7. What do you think of it? Any disadvantages or advantages?

I don't have one, but the viewfinder is not very good by all accounts. I think the Panasonic GM1 and Olympus E-M10 are well worth consideration also.

So many great options to choose from but the GX7 would not disappoint. It's got great ergonomics and personally I find the viewfinder very accurate (as far as EVFs are concerned).

Very compact camera with an ultra light body and small lenses. The sensor size is more than adequate for everyday shooting and you can still get large prints if necessary from that pixel count.

Suppose it all depends on price though and Olympus make some great gear too.

One last thing, check the promotion tabs on their website and see if there are any free redeemables. Normally have cashback/extra warranty or lens promotion at this time of the year

Would you not consider a Fuji X-M1 ?
They are stupid cheap at the moment.
On amazon.co.uk today you can get them for £399 (black) with £100 credit back before 31st May.

It's also only 709 with the 20mm on eglobal if you want to risk it

Still too dear at that. Have you or anyone here used this site?

See a good deal on a Cannon Eos M with zoom for half that price? any opinions on that particular camera?

Looking for a good camera with zoom for those family shots and those Rugby games junior participates in but do not want a DSLR. Coming from a Panasonic TZ7 and have had 35 mm zoom previously.

This is a new Bridge camera from Sony and is supposed to be fantastic

If you have lenses already, the GX7 is a nice camera. Otherwise, I personally would rather go with an NEX 7, or even the 6/6000 in that price range because of the sensor, the lenses, and I think the low light image performance is light years better, which is important to me.
