Is it safe to graze hens and ducks after applying sulphate of iron?

our lawn is badly covered in moss so i went to the garden centre and they recommend sulphate of iron so i got a bag of that and brought it home. But as we have free range hens roaming around i am worried that when i put this on the lawn it might poison them. It says on the bag that it will stain patios and concrete so it must be strong.
P.S dunno if it was this forum, gardening or smallholding to post this so apologies if its in the wrong place

Had moss myself, to remove it you need to scarify the lawn with a machine to rake up moss and put lime on to raise ph, moss favors acidic soil

Sorry, misread, sulphur of iron is mixed in water when I used it last year, pungent oul stuff, the best I could suggest is Google it, not sure if lime would bother them
