I've been trying to watch live, but this year the feeds are pretty terrible, I tend to get too annoyed and just wait about an hour or so. . .

    . . and then I definitely DON'T torrent it. . . . . not me. . . I wouldn't dare ;)

Well now some nice progression...Dany stuff was a bit boring but glad they didn't give it much screen time. Jamie and Bronn double-team is very cool and interesting. The Littlefinger stuff was better this week. Curses to the Reddit guy who spoiled the necklace thing etc....and curses to those people on these threads who had the same "prediction". That kind of stuff spoils the fun for everyone :(
Interesting development that Locke has gone undercover and is about to take the black to honor Bolton's request. Wonder how that one will play out.

And now onto that final scene. Well first of all what is the story with Summer? did she fall into a walker trap? Is she under the Ice now? Hope to see a Ghost and Summer reunion. With Bran and the Reeds (and Hodor...poor Hodor) being captured it leaves them without any cards to play. Bran can't exactly warg while being right in front of them can he? But for the moment they are being kept hostage with Jon and co. on the way so I hope that plays out okay...otherwise we might be losing another Stark :{ And that Walker stuff at the end was pretty cool. It seems they turn the babies into walkers which tbh was to be expected. Their underworld /layer looked very slick.

The whole goings on around the wall and north of it lacks a bit of coherency. The wildlings huge army is still procrastinating and the white walkers army from the end of season 2 is still in hiding. The whole universe revolves around crasters keep in that episode. The wildlings are within reach, the white walkers are a horse ride from their HQ, the nights watch are on their way and brans crew just bump into it. All in what is meant to be a huge area which isn't even fully mapped. I feel like it could be done better.

I think they speed up a lot of things around the Wall like when Styr sent that kid to Castle Black in the last episode which was probably a good distance away but it cut to the kid being there straight away, so timelines are obviously interchangeable. Locke got there quite fast from the Dreadfort too. Crasters Keep is just 60 miles from the Wall going by this episode so that would be accessible in a couple of hours whereas the climate in that white walker populated area was a lot worse so was probably a lot further off.

If you look at a map of the place,
Crasters is not that far from the wall (in the grand scheme of things) The Wildlings are travelling further but also as a huge army, it would take them much longer to cover the same ground. To say the White Walkers are just a horse ride is a bit of a stretch too, since it's a dead horse. . . you've no idea how far they actually are away from Crasters, I'd say they're waiting for Winter to come anyway before going near the wall. By looking at the map I'm guessing they're in the "Land of always winter" which would make sense judging by the look of the place. which is a fair bit away from Crasters.

If you look at where Locke was sent from, to where Crasters is from the wall, there's huge differences there, But in fairness we've no idea how long it's been between each episode.

Btw depending on which map you look at the land of always winter is in VERY different places lol.

I really enjoyed that episode, wish it had kept going so I could see what happened with Jon Snow and Brann at Casters Keep. Looking forward to next week.

I found myself wanting Jamie and Brienne to kiss in their goodbye scene too!

I hope the Daenerys story arc picks up soon, I'm not interested in that at all. I just wanted it to be over so I could see what else was going on.

Great episode! I'm really happy about Brienne and Pod teaming up and heading off after Sansa, two of my favourite characters, so I can't wait to see how that plays out :D.

And Oleanna Tyrell was behind the poisoning. Although Littlefingers motives aren't clear, so it will be interesting to see those come to light! I was rewatching the beginning of season 3 and I'd forgotten that he was the one who negotiated with the Tyrells to come over to the Lannisters side before the Battle of the Blackwater, so it makes it a bit more plausible that they would have ended up conspiring together.

I wish they'd drop Dany's storyline for a while though until it gets more interesting, at least they got it out of the way at the beginning of the episode!

You prove my point on the the lack of coherency. We are left guessing as to the timeline with certain events happening relatively quickly (Locke arriving at castle black) to others (wildling army assembling and white walkers army being at the wall by the end of season 2). The white Walkers were at the wall at the end of season 2 I believe.

Thought the episode was extremely boring. No real developments. Filler nonsense. They're really belabouring the "Dani emancipator of slaves" stuff....we get it guys! Would like something else from the storyline please.

I'm not expecting action every week but there could be some plot development. They're probably saving it for one of the last few episodes again...you know that one cracking episode every season?

i dont know what you were watching but i thought it was brilliant from start to finish at that ending . best episode of the new series so far for me.

also there has been pregnant women killed, people beheaded and even babys killed in this series yet for me seeing Hodor getting picked on has saddened and angered me the most since watching the show

Speaking of horrible scenes, the "rape 'em 'till they're dead" line from the guy in Crasters Keep while all around him Crasters daughters are being raped is one of the most horrific scenes so far in the whole series!

I thought the white walker guy at the end who touched the baby's face looked a bit cheesy, like a bad guy from an episode of Power Rangers or something.

What is the purpose of Locke going to The Wall?

    robbed of another site

to refresh your memories, he’s one of the men who attempted to rape Brienne (Gwendoline Christie), and later threw her in a bear pit. He’s a friend to the Boltons, and was sent North to find Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and Rickon Stark (Art Parkinson) in order to kill them properly and ensure the Boltons’ command of Winterfell.

From what I remember Roose Bolton sent Locke to the wall to extract information about Bran and Rickons whereabouts from Jon Snow. And then to kill all 3 of them.

A friend I was speaking to says this episode has blown several fan theories out of the water. What's he referring to exactly?

I'm pretty sure that this isn't against the charter to discuss because it doesn't involve any spoilers, and if it is that's kind of silly.

I think Littlefinger wants to become king of everything basically. They've been portraying him that way for a while (that scene last season about climbing the ladder, also some other scenes I can't quite recall).

Littlefinger is the most powerful and manipulative man in Westeros. Even if he speaks funny.

did he not also cut off Jaime's hand too. I couldn't place him while watching the episode so at least makes more sense now. Thanks.

Thought it was good enough episode- progressed most of the plots and revealed more about the conspiracy and white walkers so definitely not a filler episode for me.

I could see the awkwardness in the Margaery and young king's bedroom scene- must have been hard for the young actor playing that scene!

That baby/White Walkers scene at the end.

Above is nothing that wasn't in the episode, just about what was shown here that hasn't been in the books.

He cut of Jaime's hand and was sent by the father of that weird torturing guy to find out where Bran is (because he learned he is still alive because he knows Theon didn't really kill him) and to kill any surviving Stark.

He's a right aul fecker he is.

So the 'theory' that people have been arguing over for years is
    where White walkers come from?
    .
