ring 087099guberment and theyll tell you

and its not radiation you need to worry about, it badgers, as they are part made from badger faeces and menstrul blood, and tend to be attracted, what you should becconcerned with is what is badgers natural prey and get some of those in to offset the damage

I'd be hoping it becomes more widespread. Middle class folk are getting shafted with taxes. And there is another €2bn in taxes coming in the next budget. Worrying times indeed as there seems to be no respite for the taxpayer despite supposed economic recovery. Government need to know their limits.

The bad one! Shur it's all bad!

There was a woman on the radio the other day saying that the smart meters give out 10,000 times more power than mobile phones, because they are connected to the "smart-grid" (no they're not). Apparently her friend got heart-arrhythmia from smart meters and another friend's child was autistic as a result.

It's ignorance of basic science. And logic. And common sense.

Love this thinking hmmm how to get people to save water ... ah lets charge them for it. Then lets remember the bin charge did that stop companies covering everything in packaging ? No so people were just being charged to dispose of their rubbish there is no real way of cutting down on it. Same with the water your just paying another tax.

Nocebo effect just like pylons and wind turbines.

I was happy to hear my water meter will be getting installed next week. I'd rather pay for what I use than a fixed fee based on god knows what. The time for protesting and preventing meters being installed is over. We are all going to pay whether we have a meter or not. I can live with water charges as long as there is a fair free allowance and payment is based on extra usage. Somehow I doubt that will be the case though.

    I. love how these nuts complain of this stuff, they obviously dont know about water causing cancer...provided you wear a tinfoil hat while taking it from the tap

I believe it's high time that Ireland had a modern, efficient water infrastructure.

And if you think the money from these meters is going to fix the problem, you really haven't been paying attention to how this country is run.

But but but was that not why we spent 50 million on consultants to figure this out :pac:

In fairness there was a lot of physical property included in that amount, IT systems etc.

Still don't seem to be the most efficient company for spending though!

They were supposed to use the systems in place though for billing and so on. I can agree to some modernising of the infrastructure in this case. but most of it was wasted.

No seriously. Look up the ersi tests.

    Eu gave recommendations.
Ireland altered them as they couldnt meet them.
and they cant even meet there own altered standards.

any time you get a strong smell of chlorine off the water the bacteria count has went too high and there trying to bring it down.

Sure if thats the case then I will welcome the meter with open arms and connect an extension lead to it and run the whole house off it. Its a win win!

The water charges are just more taxes to pay back the well off gambling friends of the Govt.
    Nothing more, nothing less.

I fully support those who are taking a stand against the water meter installations, water is a basic human right Im against water charging it will be a huge burden on a lot of people already struggling, the talk of free allowances is just to try get around people to accept water charges, but in time if our water ends up being privatised there will be no free water allowances then, I know some might say its €250 per year, good article in the sunday business post last week on water charges the only reason it will be €250 next year is because of the €500 million grant/subsidy Irish water will be receiving off the government, the government has said long ago they plan to make Irish water a self financing company which means the €500 million grant/subsidy won,t always be in place which according to the article in SBP would mean water charges of up to €600 or €700 per year.
