Ditto and I've met a load in my time and not one I didn't get on with. Zimbabweans are another bunch of folks where I've never met one who wasn't really sound. People are people no matter where you go and you have good and bad*, but mostly good I've found, but with those two cultures for some reason the bad ratio is smaller.

If only Irish women could look like the Polish we would be blessed here in this country

You must have women falling at your feet with charm like that.

Mostly keep to themselves and cant wait to get out of here many of them but can't blame them. They came for the money, fair enough.

    True, what I've found anyway.

Irish people are particularly picky and clique-ish I find. I was in school when a lot of Polish came over to Ireland and tbh they were ignored by both the Irish students and teachers. Looked like they hated school with a passion and I wouldn't blame them, no wonder they kept to themselves.

Met many polish friends in secondary school, they were a good buzz

Worked with a few polish over the years.

My god they can drink. They are like our long lost brothers and sisters :pac:

I'll add a few more generalizations just in case any were missed...

Unbelievably committed, diligent and hard working people
All Polish women are amazingly beautiful! , would blind you to gaze at their beauty
Most skilled drivers ever to navigate Irish roads

    Dziękuję Polska

Lol that's wishful thinking. I've worked with plenty of lazy polish people. They're like any other nationality. Some good, some bad.

I was pointing out how they are so resourceful, I've seen them also fashion various other tools from bits of bar because there were none on site.

You're trying to catch people out by hoping they'll point out she's not polish

    God bless them.

Plenty of generalisations about them being good workers etc. Have found a few well able to work the system as well, act the bollix on the street when full of off licence cheap drink and friendly when they want something. Of course many came and did the ****e jobs but now have moved on and have taken up supervisor/management roles or set up their own business. Need less to say this doesn't go down well with the lazy Irish

One of the best sexual encounters I've had was with a Polish woman. They should've had that in the video.

After living here for 10 years I'm nearly more Irish than Polish*, but thank you for all the kind words.

The Polish. A great bunch of lads

The Polish Embassy has put up a Youtube video, in Irish, to thank the Irish for 10 years of welcome since they joined the EU.

    Fairly awesome stuff.

You tricky pr1ck! You made me go to a Journal.ie article!! Damn!!

Worked with a load of Polish people. Great workers!! Amazing work ethic. Also some of the women that came over...WOW!!

Something I found strange was that a few of the Polish lads I worked with were big into steroids....

Worked with one Polish girl who didn't really like the Irish. She thought the Irish women were stuck up and claimed the Irish men were all the same and boring...all like the same music and the same things. She went back to Poland after a couple of years

Didn't understand a word of that video. Will have to get my Polish friend to translate for me later.

I think its disgraceful though that even their embassy staff couldn't be bothered integrating and learning the language

had a polish girl as a kitchen porter in the pub a few years ago. the girl was bonkers but was a workhorse and totally sound. smoked like a chimney and swallowed guinness like water but looked like a model

That's a very nice touch and love the humour in the video. I was friendly with a few Poles when I lived back home and when I lived in Prague my best mate was Polish.

Without getting all sentimental I found we have a real shared sense of fun and respect. Clicked from the off and never ran out of conversation. These are the friends you value.

My OH is of Polish descent , her grandfather was Polish.
However she's Finglas reared , kinda proud of my Finglas/Polish descent wife.

Nice gesture by the Polish Embassy, I've worked with a lot of them over years, most stayed for a while to make money and went home, some stayed and bought houses and intend to make their life here now.

A Polish lad showed me how to use the ticket thing at the Luas stop. The fact that I was wearing a flecktarn camo jacket with the German flag on the shoulder and had the usual shaved head made this a thoroughly laudable bit of civic mindedness.

Great video, nice simple caint as gaeilge that anyone that ever sat in an Irish class should be able to understand. Great that the people speaking even picked up the Donegal Irish accent.

Always decent, hard-working lads and ladies. They'd drink vodka all day and all night but they couldn't drink pints for ****.
