Lahinch Castle / Kilkee / Spanish Point

    I'm in Clare for the weekend and the girlfriend is working on Thursday so I might try to get a round of links golf in.

    Are any of the above courses better than one another? Should any be avoided?

    And if anyone is looking for a game let me know - it could be a slow round if I'm on my own.

    Can't comment on Spanish Point, but the Lahinch Castle course is a fun track with good quality greens etc. Kilkee has a more impressive setting and a few fund holes, but the quality wouldn't be in the came league as the Lahinch Castle course

    Spanish point is only a 9 hole course and very average. Lahinch would be the best.

    Spanish point is only a 9 hole course and very average. Lahinch would be the best.
    Spanish Point, while it's never going to be a huge draw for the visiting golfer, is by far the friendliest place I've ever had a round. When I go back there this summer, I will be sure to have it on the absolute top of my list. Castle course at Lahinch is a fine track, but never visited Kilkee.

    I'm going with Spanish Point and he was a particularly friendly individual on the phone! Castle course fairly full due to the old course holding the ladies scratch cup on Saturday, Kilkee office is closed until 11th October according to their voicemail.

    I asked can you play Spanish Point twice to get the 18 holes in and he told me I could play it all day if I liked:) Hopefully 18 won't take me that long!
