Waking up at 6am with a sore throat you knew was coming. Feeling **** and having to put the kibosh in the long run. Arrrrgghh

Idiots who 'drive' in the fast lane. The fast lane is for overtaking. If you do insist on driving in it, at least go fast enough to pass the cars inside you. A three hour+ journey is enough of a pain in the ar*e without sitting behind Dtiving Miss Daisy for half of it!

Most of them justify this by claiming that if they are doing the speed limit they are ok to be in the lane. Bol%$x. I don't care if you're going 200 mph, if I am going 210, get the f&%K out of my way.

People who think there are no speed limits on a motorway

    First world problem but ......

People who don't stack the dishwasher properly. Has taken me 20 minutes to unload it, separate half the stuff that's still dirty and wash them by hand as dirt is now welded onto it!

They annoy me too, but would you sit in the overtaking lane and not pull in just because you were hitting 120 kph?

    Hanging out the washing

Yes there is a correct way of doing it. No, you don't just close your eyes and throw the clothes at the line and hope for the best

What's this 'fast' lane you speak of? 'OVERTAKING lane'? :-(

It was mentioned once by the original poster. But yes, it is not a fast lane. It's an overtaking lane.

It's a fast overtaking lane. Much faster than the slower overtaking lane anyway. Which brings me to my rant. Three lane motorway - why is the middle lane reserved for slower traffic, while the leftmost lane (technically known as the undertaking lane!) and the right lane (overtaking lane) are for travelling at the speed limit?

Also, the speed limit of the M50 from Sandyford as far as the M11 interchange (Bray) is 120km/hour. Is this the best kept secret on Irish roads? Drivers seem to assume that the entire M50 is limited to 100 km/hour.

Finally, why are all of the flies and midgets travelling at eye-level today?

:) They were midgets when I was growing up, and they'l stay midgets in my vocabulary! Midges are small flying insects that live only in rural Ireland.

It's probably not technically correct, but I think everyone in Dublin (& Wicklow?) calls them midgets.
We're not as well educated as you Weshterners :-P
