I was talking to my father today about Liverpool and our chances this season. I've always loved being a Liverpool fan and when you listen to the fans at Anfield, you always sense a real knowledgeable, football intelligence about the place. This has often been commented on by players of opposing teams.

Hillsborough, I watched as a 9 year old and it had a huge impact on me at the time, all the same, I thought the 30 30 programmes was easily the most raw I have seen. I was thankful for the rawness as it really brought it home the extent of the disaster, loss to the families and the city, and the institutional conspiracy.

All of this, coupled with Liverpool success got me thinking about Heysel. I wondered did the bereaved families of the fans who died, ever fight a campaign for justice, was justice ever meated out and against whom. Being a Liverpool fan, for me, always carries the burden of Heysel, completely independently of Hillsborough which was absolutely nothing to do withLiverpool fans. The same can't be said for Heysel.

For anyone else, thinking about this matter, I came across this TAW article which really hit issue head on. If you haven't read it, it's really worth the read

Poor hefferboi! I hope people are just taking the piss with the superstitious stuff.....herrerboi's match thread will have no influence on the result this weekend, so don't lynch him when we lose!

He won't be around for the lynching, said he would delete his account iw we drop points.. the easy way out I suppose :D

We will need at least 4 quality players what with the champions league next season and a title to defend. :)

In that case add Cuadrado, Lallana, Shaw and Reus to the list... :D

Taking this thread off topic for a mo, we are being linked with Marcel Schmelzer from Dortmund.

16 german caps LB that can play RB 26yo available for 10 million.

    Carry on, chaps.;-)

    I've read that as well.

Don't watch much of Dortmund, since they usually play on the same day as us.

Would love to know what Nuri thinks of him though.

Mmmm.....am I alone in not really worrying about this.

Totally wrapped up in next 4 games and wondering how the feck we've gone from 7th last season to potential champions?

Transfer rumours are my panda gifs:-)

Takes my mind off the pressure of keeping the same routine going so as not to jinx the title we are not going to win.

Watched Rodger's press conference on You Tube earlier which linked me to other videos and I found this.

A video of some wise scribes talking about Brendan Rodgers' future back in 2012.
Funny to see it now and thought people here would find it interesting.

Found this after; gifted journalists talking after Rodgers appointment.

All the other club news is just beyond me now.

Transfer rumours don't matter to me like they used to.

Other club news also going beyond me. For example, I know also that there's stadium news pending.

They could announce that they will play in the local Lidl car park and I probably wouldn't raise an eye lid.

All about how they're playing and bring that tite home.

Get rid of Toure and bring in Didier Baptiste. It's fantasy land at this stage lads (and has been for a while).

    Fookin luvin it.

I like the Warrior Jerseys but I'd rather if they decided to go either white or gold with the crest and sponsorship.

    One or the other please.

Did anyone else read the BBC gossip page this morning.

City want to sign Messi for 250 million! That's like near 10 Andy Carrolls.

In Liverpool related news. They were talking about us signing Tello from barca too.

FFP will stop City from signing anyone for 250m in my view.

    250 million is nearer to 7 Andy's.

Not only FFP but Barca are going to throw money at their players to stay for the next 12 months. Remember, they're barred from the transfer market until 2015

    I'd argue £250m is worth about 25 Andy Carroll's

Fingers crossed for Sunderland to do us a favour two games in a row. That would be a great start to the end of lent.

    I'd doubt that

Banned from buying not selling. No chance anyone is leaving Nou Camp in summer if they can't replace them.

Imagine a team of 11 Andy Carroll's and the sub's bench is all Andy Carroll's.

Team would be in breach of ffp, what with how much they'd have to spend on hair bands, ribbons and go-gos
