i thought "beats" were the big thing though? oh i don't know I used to be with it, but then they changed what *it* was. Now what I'm with isn't *it*, and what's *it* seems weird and scary to me. It'll happen to you...

True.... Mabye they just knew so so little about it, it didn't even dawn on them that it needs headphones like other stuff!:D Yed be surprised just what ignorance can remove from plain sight!

In fairness some of those kids were just idiots, not knowing what the play button was. . . . or what volume was. . .

I don't get why they don't understand headphones. Or why it takes them so long to open the thing up. A chimp would have it working in less time. It might be covered in faeces, mind.

Wonder would they know how to put batteries into things these days?

The Walkperson was all well-and-fine for when you were out perambulating and/or excursioning of course, but back in them days you just weren't Hep without you 'ad a big-ass muddafugga of a dual tape deck, which was also required for running off software backups.

Even the old iPods, with the clickwheel that everyone was going mad about ten years ago, look archaic by today's standards. Strange time.

Showing complete disgust, incomprehension and mistrust of nostalgic, obsolete cultural artefacts droned about at length by boring, old people.

    Normal order restored.

I've very little time for the mawkish sentimentality of the 80s nostalgia.

Its rather pathetic really. It gets very tiring when people share articles from that God-awful Journal.ie site with headlines like "16 things you'll only know if you grew up in the 80s"

People seem to see it as some sort of achievement that they were alive in the 80s. So was I, but its of absolutely no consequence.

I showed my young fella a cassette tape a couple of years ago(he was @7)
He asked me what it was, I told him it was how we used to listen to music when i was his age.
He took it from me, examined it very carefully....
    Then asked me......
''Where d'ya plug in the headphones Dad!''

    Children have @ages now?

Well I'm not sure what day you were in, but in MY day, 'approximately' was denoted by a double squiggle like this ~

The video is a load of ****e. The situation is set up. The kids know they are expected to have a "funny" reaction. They fail at that part of it, but hey they're only kids.

I didn't have some stupid OTT reaction when I was first shown a record player. Nobody did.

Show a Walkman to a kid in real life, he'll have a pretty uninteresting unremarkable reaction which will probably be something like "Oh."

    Stupid fake video.

Child "performers" are among the worst people in the world.

When you were first shown a record player, were you 8 and asked to make it work? Or were you shown how it worked.........

I wasn't asked to make it work. How could I work something I'd never used before? My reaction, like everyone else's reaction, would have been "I don't know how to work this." The end. Not OMG SO FUNNY LOOK AT ME I'M SO FUNNY OMG HAHAHAHAHAA.
