Iphone : Turning off message alert for missed calls?

Can the message alert be turned off for missed calls? eg. you get missed call and a message saying You missed one call from me at bla bla bla. It's annoying, I don't need the message as I can see this missed call alert.

My dad just moved to eMobile and has this. I think you've to give them a call and they turn it off. Once you restart your phone it's gone.

It's a network provided feature. Nothing to do with the phone.
