Winning the league on a net spend of £20 million would be a huge achievement considering our closest rival Man City spent north of £90 million this season.
Its even greater testament to Rodgers coaching and management that most of the players that start for him he didn't buy.

    Just a small strain.

Ya he didn't look like he pulled up in the game. Throw him on the bench sure, keep him fresh for Chelsea game.
Im more worried about losing Henderson for 3 games to be honest.

Excellent news! If its 50/50 id rather not risk v norwich and have him fully fit for chelsea.

He should be fully fit for the Chelsea game anyway which is the important thing. Hopefully, Luis' hat-trick will be enough to get us past Norwich.

    Just a small strain.

Could have been a lot worse. I'm guessing he will start on the bench against Norwich.

prob have allen-gerrard-lucas in midfield and coutinho-suarez-sterling up top unless Moses gets a start ahead of allen/lucas

Interesting article with some good points from Paul Wilson. Anyone have a read of it?

Credit to Dortmund fans, thats a few occasions now that they have shown tremendous support for Hillsborough.

Must make it my business to attend a Dortmund game, always a quality atmosphere.

As soon as Suarez gets his hat-trick out of the way bring on Danny!

Going back to what people were talking about earlier , I started to believe we could win the league after we won away at Stoke in January , so much so that i stuck a €10 on us at 8/1!

I don't really understand this whole 'they're not in Europe' thing or why it's an issue. Yes, Liverpool aren't in Europe. That's because last season they were the seventh best team in England. Which just makes this season's progress all the more impressive.

It is significantly easier to win the league when you are not in Europe
That is why the top 4 changes so much in the premiership ,I mean when is the last time even one of the teams in the Top 4 retained there place in the top 4 and its why nearly every year the winner comes from 7th or lower

That's a good point. I'd forgotten that Europe was such a burden that clubs needed to be paid £30m+ to compete there. The poor sods

I understand the logic in the argument, however after 19 seasons of the premier league, there has never been a winner that hadn't competed in Europe the season they won. That would suggest that the advantage of not playing in Europe is being exaggerated greatly.

When was the last time a Spanish, German, French, Scottish or Portuguese side won their league without competing in Europe? If it was that much of an advantage, it shouldn't be too unusual

But Atletico are juggling both CL and La Liga. I don't think we would be top of the PL if we were playing in Europe.

Either way both teams have done excellently.

But we also would not have this exact same squad ,ie we would have made further investment if we were in Europe.

Need a new wallpaper for the laptop and wondering does anyone have a link to some good liverpool ones.

First weeks back I saw someone post a fantastic pic of Suarez and Gerard touching the Liverpool crest on way to pitch . Kicking myself for not downloading it.

Ok, that's the end of that!

City at home to a team in complete disarray was never gonna be a game that had a hope of them dropping points.

The figures for net spend over the last 5 seasons by the leagues top teams underline the magnitude of job done by Rodgers and his side this year, along with having to change a culture of not really expecting to succeed. Well done to all, regardless of what unfolds next..
Bren & Stevie G are getting all the praise right now, but earlier this year when we were still unbelievers it was Suarez who changed the mindset of his colleagues, rampaging around the pitch and generally causing havoc for defences... I hope he finds form again this weekend to cap off the season and finish the job.
