    Great stuff!

Observed Kingfishers, Dippers, and House Martins yesterday on our run. No swans though!

Used to have kingfishers here under an old wooden bridge and a very tame otter one summer.

Snap! Was thinking of headiing out to do a bit myself overthe next few days. Only got the licker this year so first time here aswell. Guy I bought it from said to use Roundup at a 10:1 ratio. My tank holds 60 litres so 50l water to 1l roundup. Still not sure if Roundup is best thing to use though!!

I think gallup is better than roundup

10:1 is very strong Imo. I'd put 2 teacups of Gallup into a 5 gallon drum and it gives the rushes a good kill.

reconnected electric fence to furthest part of farm yesterday, there was no shock. Walked the area about 5 times this morning eventually found an electric wire wrapped around sheep wire, the way it was wrapped it had to have been done with a pliers or something, anyway have a shock in it now

He snapped the larsen trap as well! Now it's a personal vendetta against him.

Cuckoo is here this morning, wahey, summer!

Kovu, what were you at when you heard cuckoo. I remember a superstitious woman telling me that whatever you were at when you heard the cuckoo first that you would spend the rest of the summer at the same thing.
If there anything in that, i hope you weren't trying to catch that mink!!!!
Then again, its probably unlucky to be superstitious!!

Worse things to be doing all summer than that.

10:1 sounds way way way to strong to be honest.....
I know roaste36(a generic 360g equivalent to round up) is 6l/ha(or about 2.5ltr/acre) for grassland destruction... I know rushes are tough but id be very worried going that strong as if it drops any on the grass you can wave bye bye to it for more than just this year.....

I was going fairly easy until I disturbed a swan. Booted it fairly quickly for a while after that because the cob went after me:o

Was nearly in tears laughing this morning. Went to check the mink trap and the fcuker had buried under the trap and took the bait that was staked into the ground from below.

Wrap it in a black rubbish sack, some sardines in oil in the little bait try in the back, use the oil to make a trail from the door of the trap to the nearest stream. Tiny bit of sardine and feathers if you have any right at the door. Put rocks all around the trap including on top of it, that way it won't get disturbed.

Being careful with using fish though as I will end up with a very angry cat...sausages eem to be its favourite thing. And magpies stuck in traps  I will do that with the bag and rocks now though.

If you leave a bit of an overhang, say a flat rock on top, the birds won't go in. The black sack will prevent them from seeing any bait. It also makes the trap look like a tunnel which the mink love to go into. A piece of 2"x2" weldmesh or something similar will stop the (feckin) cat from going in. With the stones on and around it foxes and badgers won't bother it either.

Not trying to be funny but it does sound like the symptoms on that act fast ad about strokes only transferred to a heifer.

As J.O. said above, it does seem similar to that advert. Theres also CCN but I've never seen a case of that so I can't give any help to symptoms.
