A thought to keep in mind in mind is that Mr Prendeville had some 80 to 114, 000 listeners from a possible total of 150,000 and on special occasions he'd get almost 100% of the potential audience.

Where are you getting this possible figure of 150,000 from?

So he drove down to Cork from Dublin, then back up to Dublin, and then back down to Cork the next day? Doubt it.
he departed from waterford that morning i believe

What would be Dubln's version of Neil Prendeville?

Loudness-wise, it would have been Jerry Ryan, but Jerry Ryan was smarter.

It heats up the rivalary between Red Fm and Corks 96fm.

Im sick of hearing about the **** jokes about Neil im not his buddy or his fan but its all old news.

Theres two sides to every story every sensible person would know that.

I respect Keith Barry because he got a standing ovation at a TED Talk, and as far as I'm aware he the only Irish person to give an official TED talk, but his new material is garbage and he is likely on the way out. Neil Prendevillie boils my blood and always has, as a Cork man he represents everything I hate about Cork, small mindedness and judgmental in the extreme.

Published JNLR figures over the last several years show that 96FM, say Prendeville, is reaching from 45% to 65% on average with peaks much higher.

So if he reached 2/3rds of the market at say 100,000 listeners, then there is a market potential of approx 150,000 listeners in the license catchment area.

If one were to, erm, even google it, we get UCD, UCC, a Womans' Institute and, as far as I'm aware, an unknown Cork comedian too.

Neil said they contacted his agent and cancelled but Keith Barry turned up anyway.

Well he is supposed to be a magician.

Could he not have used his "powers" to hypnotise them all into letting him on? Or convinced the receptionist she was incapable of saying no to him? I am starting to doubt his abilities. Sorry, did I say starting..

Jerry Ryan in some ways, but without the 40k habit.

But with a predilection for Nurofen Plus.

He pulled some stroke on poor Keith Barry. :pac:

And why is this a big deal?

Getting back on topic but what is the big problem with the same guest appearing on rival shows?.From memory,I have heard the same guests on,I think,Today FM and 2fm on the same day,in the past.

I have also seen guests appear on BBC breakfast and ITV on the same day.

It was probably a fcuk up from RedFM because they should have insisted that he appear on their show only on that day.If they did not make that clause,I can see why Barry was mad.But all was not lost as he was on 96fm.

In the past...Only last saturday morning some woman writer was on Today Fm, 15 mins later shes being interviewed on 2FM by Dave Fanning. So, not only the same day, but the same hour.

As far as you are aware? Yes, I've said I am a follower of Mr Prendeville, it's not speculation or awareness, is it.

I support and back Prenders, ACTIVELY.

Having spent time in Barry's company I can easily imagine him kicking up a fuss and making a scene. He's not the most pleasant of people and isn't above mocking others and generally being a dick

Just quoting this so you don't delete it in the morning.

Thanks, I don't know the man at all. I believe that I've never met him, I know I've never been at his shows, and I don't watch RTE.

Sounds a bit cultish. Is it not enough to be a satisfied listener or do we all have to bow down before this guy. Also im from cork and only know him as the guy who molested himself on a plane. Actually I dont know anyone who listens so those listenership figures are dodge.

And just to be fair, I've had the misfortune of hearing the show in question and the presenter cane across like a pretentious, self serving prick.

Thanks, fortunately we can't all be prosecuted for having a ****. All us men at any rate.

I know you, 2567 Harbour View Road, right?

As a fan, I think this is a fair assessment too. I turned him off this morning, I thought he was talking about something serious, like in the old days on good friday when only dirge music would play on the radio and no TV, if one even had one of those then.

But if it's not a PR stunt, that Barry chaps needs locking up as a mentalist.

Dont get why you say thanks? And why does where I live have any relevance but ya thats me. I just wondered was it ok for others not to like him. All I said was he's not that famous except for the incident.
