Tried twitter can't get the hang if it at all.

Unless the sniping stops here many more are going to fold up their tents and move in. Chit chat is hardly worth opening anymore. It was great craic with plenty of slagging

Was shamed into reading the rules here yesterday and one of them was'' don't be a dick'' so I'm sure nothing personal was meant
ps read it properly again, rules revised the 12/4/14 and it said they didn't count it personal abuse....shoulda read it right the first time,,,s..t

Its really gone down hill since the name changing started IMO.

Its not as close knit as what it was where it was like talking to your neighbour.

An awfull lot if dairy talk on too the last few months not much beef or sheep talk happening.
It was brilliant craic on here when I first joined, wasn't serious everyone was there for the laugh.

Lots of lads started getting agendas then I think be it in the outdoor cubicle thread or just a lot of repetition in general.

Maybe we should have a separate dairy thread where all dairy questions can be asked so we are not drowning out all the other non dairy threads??

Sheep forum is the best of the whole lot

People need to self regulate. Getting rid of CC will only move the behavioural issues to other threads.

Freedominacup, Rancher, and myself have torn shreds off one another in the past year or more yet we can still have good humoured posts to each, or at least I think we do anyway.

If a person really can't get on with someone else then IMO, either voluntarily ignore them by not conversing with them or use the ignore function.

IMO there is likely enough scope for an entire Dairy forum, but I would think the present moment would be poor timing to start one. I was going to suggest one previously but wanted to see how the Sheep forum would do first.

how do you accept a friend request? have one here this while and it wont let me accept, had no problem before?

Would it not take away from the whole forum though?
Maybe it might be an idea to have just a dairy forum and get rid of the sheep forum?
If there was a specific area for the dairy posts the Shep threads and beef threads wouldn't get drowned out.
And we can all come back into this forum and have the banter on the chit chat and answer any threads on each forum?

IMO I'm not in dairy, but I do like having a scann of the dairy threads. Sum times I pick small things out that is every day practice for most dairy lads and think that i could be at that to, grass measuring or how ye deal with mastitis ect but I suppose its not hard to just flick over to the dairy form and have a look.

It's not that long since I joined here but I find it a brilliant place to find info and other people's opinions on matters.

You are not having our Sheep forum thank you very much. It's been planted, it will grow.

Ok - I can see there has been a lot of back and forth over the last few days and with a view to ending further supposition as well as moy83's whiskey strike I am going to take unusual approach of listing out some of what has happened. Before I do so please don't take this as an invitation to re-open debates on any of these choices - as always if you have an issue with mod direction take it to PM, either with Rovi, or the 2 cat mods (Scofflaw or myself).

    1. Reilig has chosen to close their account. As with all other posters discussion of this isn't allowed as they are no longer here to answer for themselves. This includes any circumstances that led up to his leaving.
    2. Mod warning was added to this thread asking folk not to discuss this.
    3. Users who argued with mod direction on thread received a warning. This step was taken after we had attempted to manage off topic discussion by removing many posts discussing Reilig from this and other threads.
    4. One user, who repeatedly argued on thread was banned for a week. This was reduced over PM to a day. However said user is now on a 2 week break due to another matter, which of course cannot be discussed.
Remember, all we ask is folk come here and have fun, but don't lose sight of the charter.

Again I hope this helps reassure you all. We are not cracking down or going on a power binge, however as noted by some of you here, there have been some posts overstepping the mark, these as always will be dealt with. As well as the charter maybe have a read of the site FAQ & T&Cs if you are unsure, for example trying to determine who a poster in real life is isn't on, something that has occurred in the past here, similarly, you are each responsible for the data you post, so if you reveal who you are there is little we can do to help roll that back.

Hope this helps, but if not again please feel free to PM us with your concerns - Rovi; Taltos; Scofflaw

    Cheers
    Taltos

Per Wibbs - I am posting in bold so you don't have to. - Helps indicate where I post as a mod and not as a poster.

A dairy forum is a great idea imo. You could have beef, sheep and dairy and it would tidy up the threads too.

Would it be absolute standard practice that Ye dairy farmers have a back-up system for electricity, seeing as its vital for you're day to day operation?
Or are power outages such a rare event Ye take the chance?

Rare occurrence. was back 2 hours. Damm annoying when it does happen tho.

thanks for that taltos, dont worry about moy, he can drink fcuk all anyway

the only issue i have/had was i didnt think bbam was arguing, he made a comment, received a warning and then he only made a joke about getting a warning, he is probably one of the most articulate and sensible posters on here, but im sure he will accept this ban and move on

Cheers - there was a bit more than that, but again I can't discuss it, both as bbam is not here to talk for himself and more importantly it is against policy to discuss mod actions on thread.

i agree chit chat was a brillant place, , you could pop in for a bit of slagging and a bit of crack and it offereda bit of light relief from mundane day to day sh!t

people then started getting bitter and sniping which haas to stop, so we all either cop on and get on or pull plug, its that simple

i would like it to stay but in its old format

he he - "was a brilliant place" - you mean its gone downhill in the last 2 weeks, since you joined, right?

    ;)
