    Hi there,
Can any one tell me does my farm insurance cover storm damage? On my aviva policy they mention "impact" and "lightening" cover but not storm damage directly. I have re roofed an old hay barn after stormy winds blew it off to find out that they wont cover me however i assumed along with every neighbour ive asked that they should cover me! Rang Aviva up and asked them and the lady on the phone said that they dont!! Anyone tell me what impact means?

This just shows that the whole insurance industry is a con job, all's fine and dandy when you write out your cheque every year for €1500 or more, then when you have a problem they start wriggling. Heard of a case where an asbestos roof blew onto a silage pit making it unusable, guess what, big bill for hazardous waste disposal and not covered by insurance.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

storm cover is an additional peril and costs extra. most insurers won't give storm cover as normal. it is an extra that must be paid for. It costs more and they might want to inspect the shed before giving it. Cheapest insurer is not always the best!!!
