Heard a tradition that when Maynooth first opened ( long before days of rail ) students would travel there by horse.

Horse would be sold on arrival to cover living expenses.

Don't know how they got home - but in those days they probably stayed there for the entire academic year

    Hi
I have rooms and stables available to rent for the academic year. A few miles from Moycullen. Extra large flood light sand arena at the end of a quiet country road. Rent/livery negotiable. Access to turnout paddocks. Hacking distance to local cross country course.
    Message for details.
    C.
