The 2.0 in the Mazda 626 had the same problem. They only managed to squeeze 113bhp out of it.

Who ever was designing those 2 litre golfs and the 626's weren't thinking of the Irish motor tax.

Think its the exact same 2.0 115bhp that came in the mk3 Gti in 1992. The mk3 felt under powered with it god knows what a mk4 is like!!
The 1.8 non turbo mk4 is just as bad with 115bhp too...

The 16v came long after the 1992 launch so all the press had to test were 8v's which gave the mk3 a reputation as a slow gti which it never recovered from -even after the 16v arrived!

This guy is a tool and a backyard dealer... Revenue should have a closer look at him.

The original owner comes off worse in that tbh.

I would never ever advertise on Adverts, just pure crap.
Some of the comments where people want to swap are just laughable. DoneDeal is by far the best website.

I had sympathy for the previous owner until he threatened have the car recorded as scrapped. (he spelled it as scraped but I assume scrapped was what he meant)

Doing that would imo - be even worse then the previous owner not sending off the logbook

The new owner might be a bit of an arse for not sending off the logbook or not been upfront about been a trader.

But they paid for the car on the basis of it been for road use.

Both sound like petulant children tbh :(

The only good point about adverts is it allows for very detailed ads for honest sellers.

It's a shame that it's overshadowed by the droolers and swap monkeys however.

I'd have to take your word for it as I've never used it to sell but some of the examples posted here just shows the level of idiocy people can have.

Nice markup if he manages to sell it on for asking. In fairness it looks like a nice example i'd be interested my self if it was priced a little better

The tank has never had more than a couple of gallons in it for years and the low-pressure pump is about to calve due to being full of muck. :D

I don't know if you're joking or not?

So the fuel has gone mouldy?

*sigh* Kidding! They're trying to say the car is very economical.

Sorry, but I don't get the Honda diesel love here on bangernomics.
2.2 diesel is hardly a cornerstone of reliability (exhaust manifold and turbos) plus its got 170k miles up.
More to the point, I just think they are rotten. :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,718 ✭✭✭Hal1

Miser on fuel means the owner was a cheap cnut and only put in enough to turn off the fuel light.

It was the first ever diesel engine made by Honda. Not bad at all for a first effort, but very far from best of class at the time. Less power than the competition and using a bigger size engine. Terrible combination here with the Irish motor tax :D

Still overall a pretty reliable and good looking car and I'm sure it's a decent bangernomics proposition

If it was me, I'd get the petrol though :D

    My ads on adverts.ie:

Victron stuff for sale, Multiplus-II, Quattro, other inverters and batteries and usually some watches!
