You gotta go the Guinness store house and try a pint of it or The Boot Inn at the back of the airport, both places do great pints of Guinness. Plus from the Gravity Bar at the top of the storehouse, you can see the planes on approach into DUB.

Have never even tried Guinness :(

Can it happen that there is a delay in the feed from when ATC in DUB say something to it being received on the frequency?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 618 ✭✭✭Dublinflyer

The comms over VHF are pretty instantaneous. They travel at the speed of light! On the feed there is a delay of about 30 seconds from what I can make out.

As dublinflyer said, there is usually a delay of 30 seconds or so which is really only noticeable if you are at the airport as you'll hear aircraft cleared for take off when they are already a few hundred metres on the roll.

Sometime I've experienced longer delays of up to a couple minutes which is probably something to with either my phone or the LiveATC site but I haven't experienced a long delay for quite a few months.

Cool thanks, was wondering the exact thing that you mentioned about the a/c a few hundred metres on the roll before hearing being cleared for take off. I noticed it as my work radio was broken and I was using the phone to listen to it and never had it happen on my work one before

Just incase anyone is wondering, DUB ATC is controlling Weston airspace for the next couple of days. You may hear on the frequency the likes of, 'Clear to take off RWY 07/25', 'clear for touch and go RWY 07/25', 'clear for take-off RWY 07/25' and so on. Just if ye are interested

No ATC cover in EIWT for some reason, supposedly National Flight Centre moved a few a/c to EIAB cause of it (this im not too sure of)

More lasering at Dub - EI-DEC reporting 21.10 green laser lights.

21:13 Pilot had quite a chat with the tower giving specific location between the Hilton Hotel & Coolock, Tower saying that it has been responded to - pilot replying that 'it would be nice to catch them'.

    No you won't.

It's Dublin airspace delegated to Weston.
