Speaking of wipers, are there any wipes that are better or worse than others?

I picked up a set of Bosch ones, at the recommendation of the chap in my local motor factors. This was about 6-8 weeks ago, and I find them fairly smeary. They're a good wiper and all, but they're not great.

Is there a wiper out there that will actually wipe away the water completely? Or should I be using a glass polish or 'rain repellant' product on my windscreen alongside good wipers?

I didn't want to start a new thread on this subject but where do manufacturers get their HP figures is it from the crankshaft or on a dyno to get real world figures?
More recently, an engine dynamometer is used instead of a De Prony brake. Although the output delivered to the driving wheels is less than that obtainable at the engine's crankshaft, a chassis dynamometer gives an indication of an engine's "real world" horsepower after losses in the drive train and gearbox

They measure it at the flywheel. Losses through the transmission aren't accounted for.

AFAIK since 2005 they have to run the engine with all ancillaries in place. Before that anything went as long as the engine was running :D

    There's roadworks on N5.

Like a new road to get from Frenchpark to get to Charlestown / Knock airport without going through Ballaghadreen.

I seen something I like on dungdeal. So I query the reg on the motor tax site. Then I notice this:
    Change Of Vehicle Ownership
Transferred to an Individual on :

    Notified on : 13/01/2014

    24/01/2014
    Vehicle Registration Certificate
Most recent Vehicle Registration Certificate issued on : 28/01/2014

It doesn't sit well with me seeing that it has recently changed hands. There's no mention he's a car dealer and it's the only car he has for sale. Should I keep looking at others and forgot this one? It does look nice though bbs wheels an all :(.

Red lip on. Looks awesome and sets your car apart from all the others.

What are you replacing it with?

So Ive a good chance of getting 2 jobs after my Masters, should know about one by next week. One job is near my house which means Ill be able to go nuts and get an rx8 or similar, the other is 40minute drive each way and Ill be forced to go diesel. Now Ive stayed away from even looking at diesels on donedeal but now I kinda have to.
Top of the list seems to be a d5 163bhp s60/80. Hoping to keep it under 5k, any others? 159 jtd might be possible, 2.2cdti accord/civic, 530d SE e60 are other possibilities.
