If you could get rid of one bodily function?

    what would it be?

For me I think it'd be sweating. Just imagine all the time and money you'd save because of the reduced need to shower and do laundry. All the miserable hours spent on overheated buses smelling other people's feet that you wouldn't have to deal with anymore. There are other ones that are more disgusting, but I think overall it'd be the one that'd improve my life most frequently.

(For the purposes of the thread, this is 'a waving a magic wand and there's no consequences' kind of scenario, e.g I don't overheat and die, if you get rid sleeping you don't suffer psychotic episodes or get cancer etc)

Sweating cools your body down - you need it, but it would be great if it smelled of water.

My 2-year-old nephew woke up from his midday nap sweating one day and when I picked him up, his sweat didn't smell at all - sweat starts smelling when you reach puberty.

Pissing, would be exceptionally handy on a night out.

Yeah, I could see the benefit of getting rid of it, but on the other hand you'd miss out on things too. Dreams are fun, and I enjoy sleeping when I get the chance.

Dying, at least due to normal processes. Don't think I'd like to be truly immortal, be nice to have an out if I got bored.

Burping. It's not as satisfying as a good fart or as funny.

    Menstruating. Definitely menstruating.

I could live quite happily without the menstrual cycle.

Periods, of course. Sleeping, sweating and pissing - this stuff is nothing compared to up to 7 days of agonisingly passing golf ball sized clots out of your body. Not to mention the accompanying pain, diarrhea, leaking, chaffing, random lumps of blood all over the toilet cubicle and the 5 days of hormonal boob pain and mentalness before hand.

    Headaches someone said - pffft!

It was a closer runner-up for me, but my thinking was that you only have to deal with it once a month, and only for forty odd years. Also I don't get as bad a dose of it as that, if I did it'd probably be a different story.

You could just grow a beard or wear panties? ;)

I think I'd get rid of all the uncontrollable functions like sneezing, hiccoughing, coughing, burping, farting etc -

Yes but would your answer be the same if you were asked again in, say, four or five days? :)

I could live without sweating or menstruating, but I love to sleep so I'd keep that.

Would be nice if we had no necessity to eliminate our bodily waste, but it doesn't bother me as much as other peoples B.O.

Well considering I haven't had one for the last nine months and I'm saying it now, yes.

It's a horrible process, to be fair.

Congratulations (assuming the usual reason for the nine months). :)

Sex drive - such a waste of resources.

I can't believe nobody has said farting. I can only assume that people enjoy it far too much to give it up?

Eh? But you'd never want to have sex? Is there something wrong with you?
