Garmin G6 question

I'm trying to set up a Garmin G6 for a friend who bought it in the States.
Just wondering if anyone has done this before and knows what to do or whats involved ?

When I go into the preview mode I can search for and view courses in Ireland, but in the play mode I'm getting "no GPS signal" as a response and a listing of all the courses in the area where it was bought. Anyone know how to get local courses to load up ?

    Thanks !

I wonder if you gave it enough time?

Mines a different make but every time I play I'd take it out and leave it searching for sats on the first and tbh sometimes even in a fourball I'd be heading down the fairway before it has a yardage on screen.

    Just a thought.

I'd also presume the courses won't load up for you until you get a signal.

And you know you need to be outside right?

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Yes, I know it needs a signal etc.

Anyway, seems it just needed a bit of time to figure out where it was (I guess) ! Took about 2.5 hours to get signal for some reason, but its ok now.
