    Simples.

Hardly any students live in bedsits. Incidentally, people who say or type 'Simples' ought to be shot with balls of their own shít.

Will his licence be taken off him? Surely he cant drive again

Could do that, but it wouldn't physically stop him from driving would it? If there's a will, there's a way.

Rathmines, Harold's Cross and the SCR are filled with students living in dilapidated bedsits. It might be a certain type of student (post-graduate, long hair, baddy combats, cheap military jacket, deathtrap bicycle), but they are there.

Ms. Landers, your language is most unbecoming.

    Postgrads or 'professional' students do.

They usually emerge around 2pm to sit in Stephens Green and read dog-eared books about philosophy, feminism and critical theory.

Often times they can be seen cycling on the pavement on Raleigh 18's,a bag of vegetables hanging from the handlebars.

True, there are bedsits out there, but generally it works out cheaper for students to houseshare. I have genuinely personally never known a student who lived in a bedsit.

If they wish and think about it long enough then the greater workers revolution will definitely come about. Not that they'd ever consider work themselves. Work being a bourgeois concept festooned upon the common man.

Up until then there's neckbeards to be grown, protests to organise, and exams to fail.

Thanks to stupid law making we no longer have bedsits.

    Here's one:

No photos of the blackened windows or the grimy curtain seperating the "kitchen" from the "main living quarters".

    Here's a veritible Bedsit Blog!

Of course a photo cannot project the overwhelming stench of damp, mould, crusty socks, cannabis smoke, and of beans burnt to the bottom of a cheap saucepan.

Dont forget the cloying miasma of grease from the Chipper underneath and the train rattling by every hour that shakes the very foundations of the dwelling.

    No charge?! FFS.

Even if he has mental health issues, he could have killed someone! Plus he did a lot of damage to a protected building and to a lot of innocent people's cars. I mean, surely driving the wrong way up Dawson Street and ploughing into a load of cars is worth a dangerous driving charge in itself, never mind the college gates bit...

Can they charge him at a later stage or is this it, no punishment/treatment?

A little off topic but I know a few post-grad students in Galway and, boy, let me tell you, a good amount of them could do with some of Teasle's power-hose-in-a-prison-cell treatment from First Blood. Wash off some of that crust.

The post grads here in Dublin are no better..they seem to think reading obscure books and claiming grants is a viable alternative to working and washing.

I'd love to live in a bedsit and go weeks without washing but i'm stuck with a job and a nice house instead.

I'm stuck with a lovely house and my own business, and I am a graduate of the University of Dublin, Trinity College.
Thing is, I have never lived in a bedsit and I have always washed every day.:P

If the guy is bipolar it's strange that he wasn't hospitalised after doing such a destructive thing. Obviously I'm not an expert but it still seems strange.

Are some of the people who are joining in with Chopper's anti student/anti rented accommodation tirades also university students/graduates and if so what makes them feel exempt from his bizarre ramblings?
What's with you and students in bedsits?
I'ma guess... envious of people who went to college?

Does anybody else remember the joy rider around Trinity that took out a few fences and stuff around 2005? TCD security are truly ineffectual at everything apart from giving shiit to the Students that actually go there

It's common enough to release people without charging them first. It doen't mean that they are not going to be charged. Sometimes we are told that a file is being sent to the DPP's office.

If a person has mental health issues, he or she might not be charged (it depends on the gravity of the offence and the seriousness of the mental health issues). Or they might be charged and the court finds them not guilty because of their mental state.

Did my time in college...hated most of the entitled nobheads who went there though.

Daddy would pay for everything and they developed a form of elitism due to the fact that they never had to work to fund thier studies...in my experience most of these people were as thick as pigshiit without an ounce of common sense.

Some of the characters i went to college with (in the early 90's) are still there...doing postdocs.mPhills,mLlitts and other similarly useless courses because thier snobbiness and instrinsic lazyness means that they would never actually contemplate taking up a job they felt was "beneath them".

I can understand somebody wanting to specialise in a field that could be considered in some way usefull but "gender studies","racial studies" and "Literary criticism" are merely fronts...an excuse to claim grants indefinatley whilst others are paying thousands of euro in tax to support them.
