Meh why not for a change I suppose, as long as it's not on one of the magnificent links courses we have, it doesn't really matter where it's on.

Lough Erne is a lovely course, though I thought it went belly up and the whole place was sold for a couple of mill, hotel and all?

It's a little out of the way alright.

Not that it stopped Royal Portrush from breaking records, but then that event had the novelty and a famous course.

Bit of a risk perhaps as in will people from Dublin (most populous city) be willing to travel.

    Interesting choice.

It's a nice course with excellent par 5s, but to be honest the most memorable things about the place are its conditioning and the views; not the layout.

But more interesting is that in terms of infrastructure, you would do well to find a worse destination in Europe. Great for a private conference of world leaders, appalling for thousands of day visitors.

It's on a bad road in the middle of nowhere, and the access points pretty much all run through Enniskillen's one main bridge. Anyone who has ever tried to depart NI west for a bank holiday weekend, or watched an Ulster Championship match at Brewster Park will testify that in the land of traffic jams, Fermanagh's county town is lord and master.

I should add that because of those views, it'll look superb on TV, absolutely superb.

I loved watching Loch Lomond on TV.

I heard that the 2015 Irish Open will be played in Townley Hall.

    I could be wrong though.

not a fan of it going to the North or moving about so much.

At least it is being announced in advance - this is a major improvement.

    Going to RCD is a great idea , if I didn't have a choice - as I don't.

yes, although it is moving about quite a lot isnt it positive to see a venue nailed down for the next 3 Opens.
