Should I see Status Quo or Linkin Park?

I've got a hard decision on my hands here. I'm going to the Download Festival in the UK in a bit more than 2 months time. Overall, I've managed to come to a decision with all the clashes, but I can't decide on Linkin Park or Status Quo. Basically, Linkin Park were one of the bands I've liked since I first got really into music when I was around 11/12, I loved the first half of their discography, but the second half I won't touch. Now Status Quo, I never discovered until recently, as I was under the impression they were a "rock and roll" type band, but I learned they're actually 70's hard rock, which is one of my favorite genres. And I think they're great. So basically, my music tastes of today would tell me Status Quo, but Linkin Park has the nostalgia factor. So the best option is a poll on AH!

I remember their twentieth anniversary box set coming out in 1982. 1+9+8+2=20 years in the business and their farewell tour.

    1982.

    1982.

With that track record they might be around for a time yet.

P.S. One of the best intros to a song ever. Whatever you want.

Well according to the lineup Linkin Park are performing their debut album in full. So even if you don't like their later stuff it wouldn't really matter. For the nostalgia factor I think it may be worth it.

Also saw Crazy Town on the lineup; I can't believe they're still a thing!
    Lest we forget.....

If you go to Chipping Norton's Cornbury Festival in July you will get a rare chance to see Kid Creole and the Coconuts.

The Beasty Boys will be there this year too.

They have just released a 3 part discography cd this month.

Parts B and C are included with the box, but you gotta fight. For your rights. To Part-A.

Not much in it really. You've a choice between one band who sound like they are always playing the same song, or another band who've only ever re-written the same song.

Will Linkin Park still be as popular in 40 years? Test of time.

Linkin Park formed in 1996, so I'm sure someone of a younger generation could say the same about yourself. :pac:

"Should I slash my bum with a rusty knife and sit on a packet of salt 'n' vinegar crisps orrrrr spend the afternoon chewing on a big ball of wool".

That's what that choice basically sounds like to me.

This thread has made my mind up, people are right, time is running out with Status Quo, even if they do keep touring, their quality may decline in the next few years. And, Linkin Park are Download regulars, and I aim to frequent this festival, so chances are, I'll get another chance to see them in a few years.

Did Les Battersby lend you some Quo records?
