PSTN charge

    Long time Eircom customer here for phone only use. I've tried to search the forums but cannot find what the PSTN charge relates to. I have called Eircom directly but the customer care operator didn't know either. Why does a PSTN charge apply to an Eircom phone bill? Thanks.

    The pstn charge relates to line rental. Line rental is a standard monthly charge of €20.96 ( €25.78 including VAT). The details of this pricing can be found in eircoms terms and condition here: http://www.eircom.ie/bveircom/pdf/Pt1.1.pdf
