I had to google to find out what "sugarloaf" is. :D

Nope, it's Croagh Patrick. Pic taken from about 15 km away from it ( + / - ).

Chaps, spotted a car I like the look of, claiming to be a one owner car. The chap won't give me the reg, claiming he 'doesn't know me from Adam' and 'worried about cloning of reg plates'. I guess he has somewhat valid concerns. If he has a log book for the car, that should show how many owners it has.... wouldn't it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,792 ✭✭✭coolisin

    Yeah the log book would!
Id still not bother though dealing with that person seems like too much hassle!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,880 ✭✭✭Kaiser D

If he was worried about reg cloning just tell him anyone can clone his plate when he is out in the car. I bloody hate that malarkey, how stupid would you have to be to not realise that!

In other news, I've managed to break my collarbone. Feeeck.

I had a very not nice experience on the road today.

Was driving on a two-lane road with an 80kph speed limit, doing 110 (because it's reasonable enough on that road - good condition, good view out etc.)

I was driving on the left lane and decided to overtake the car that was going behind a whole column of cars (4-5 cars in front of him/her). When I was overtaking and in his blindspot, the idiot (without the use of the indicator) started changing lanes - horn, brakes and when he returned to his lane I sped up again. The **** flashed me with his lights as if I've done something wrong!!!

Hate idiots that don't use indicators or look in their blindspots. Even, if you're a Boards member, owner of the 2008 Silver Honda Civic, I still think you're a gobshiet.

Waiting for the high horse brigade to tell me that if I was going 80km/h instead of 110, this whole situation would've been avoided

Yeah I realise that and kept giving him every opportunity to give it to me.

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ford-focus-nct-taxed/6698786

Right I'm just going to come out and say that I think something dodgy is going on with that car. It's a different ad from the original one I saw with the same number but a different contact name. The seller wouldn't give the reg number and then never called me back, despite saying he would. I called back after 2 hours and the phone was off. Eventually got through to him and his wife had 'sold' the car 15 minutes prior.

If you see it- avoid it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,102 ✭✭✭dar83

That ad doesn't deserve a sale...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,880 ✭✭✭Kaiser D

First off, nobody ever takes photos like that unless they want to hid the reg.

The long tax also rings alarm bells, why spend €400 on taxing your this month if you're emigrating shortly afterwards?

    Very nice :)

Friend of mine is going out to teach English in China this year and we're going out to the October drift matsuri in Ebisu, ya coming :)

Don't be bloody teasing me!! :(
Myself and my mate that I'm going away with this year are thinking of convincing the girls to come to Japan on holidays next year, pick up something cheap, half broken and RWD in an auction and go to Ebisu.

Problem is, the girls know exactly how they'd be spending their holiday so I doubt it will happen. :p

That's our plan, a rough €500 sr20'd something and fly the Irish flag from the back of it :)

    Is that croagh Patrick?

Edit: read further on and you say it is croagh patrick. I knew it was. I can see it from my house, not as close as that or at that angle.
