Studied English Poetry Themes????

Heya, does anybody have a list of themes that need to be covered in poetry? I`m planning ahead trying to figure out what English poems I`ll need to learn and how many? If anybody had a list of themes that need to be covered it would be brilliant thanks

This by no means a definitive list but off the top of my head i would say-love,regret,sadness,vivid imagery,a poem that celebrates a person or thing,favourite /least favourite poem,old age,unusual poem(style or subject),made me think,interesting title,poem set in an interesting time/place,youth,2poems with a similar theme,poem with a personal meaning,poem that deals with an important issue and the insights it gave you.

I havnt looked into this but I would assume covering like 1 poem with vivd imagery, language etc. (I did he wishes for the cloths of heaven) and then maybe 1 love & 1 war would have you covered? Like you could just work the poems you studied into the title? I might be being too risky tho!

Thanks to both of you! If I have say maybe three or four poems learned and then work whatever question comes up into them as well as writing the usual (onomatopoeia, alliteration etc.) would that cover me?

No problem! From looking at the exam papers id say you'd be ok, like if a theme you havnt studied came but the other option is almost always something you can work with
