Copy of new driving license

Hi My insurance company has requested me to provide them with a copy of my driving license in order to activate my new policy.The problem is my new license wont arrive for 2-3 weeks and the insurance company has giving me 7 days to get a copy to them.Has anyone ever been in a similar situation to me ?any help apreciated

Have you actually rang the insurance company to tell them your licence is being renewed at present and you are waiting for the new one to arrive? Everyone and his dog know about the shambles the new licencing process is so I'd be surprised if they didn't wait until you get it.
