    +1

An this: on a car doing only a few thousand miles per year, it makes feck all difference if it does 15MPG or 30MPG either

165k on the clock? Barely broken in. Those cars are like tanks.

No leather is a downer though.

Not having a V8 would be the downer for me on that car :D

Still magnificent flagships those W126. My favourite S-class of all time.

ok so its time to replace my last bangernomic which is due its nct and going to cost a bomb to pass...
Ive been practising bangernomics and really its the way to go, for the past few years or so but finding it hard to find one this time..

Looking for nct to 15 , plus bit of tax would be good..

    previous bangernomimobiles have been

4/13-4-14 Volvo S80 2.0t Current Banger Bought for €400 One yr ago with full nct. Now needs a belt, wp, 4 tyres, front shocks and bushins etc etc cost a shed load .
3/12-4/13 Xantia t/d , bought with full nct, €780, ran for a yr and sold for €500, no a cent spent on it bar diesel
3/11-3/12, 99 Toyota Picnic, cost €0. Spent €0, sold for €280, when nct was up.
    3/10-3/11, xedos 9, 2.5, bought for €700 , drove for a yr and sold for €400
    3/9-5/9, 405d bought for €50, nct;d drove for a bit and sold for €450
    5/9-3/10, saab 900 bought €900, sold €900
So bangernomics works ive spent a total of €2830 on cars in the last 4 years and recouped 41630 of that, net spend=1200 , if any one spots/has a candidate, ill buy it and post updates on same.

    Don't mind Bangernomics.
On those figures you'd give Wheeler Dealers a run for their money.

Bangernomics Masterclass in all fairness though.

Can't be too bad if it went through a test in February.
Weird, I have one of these and there's no rust whatsoever on it, they have a bit of a rep for rust.

They will still pass a test ones no holes are showing. They usually stay rust free on top, bar the arches and sills but underneath they develop heavy rust, particularly on the rear chassis rails and under the whole rear of the car in general

its a shame that they do rust as they are a very good car otherwise with next to flawless reliability.
