What beer are we drinking this week, too?

White gypsy pale ale for me last night. Gorgeous stuff but I'd rather if it came in a 50cl bottle. At 7.5%, a full bottle would finish me for good.

The current batch of Trouble Sabotage is very good - nothing like it's early incarnations. Stands proudly beside Metalman now:D

Had another Devil's Half Acre.
I like this beer quite a bit - more of a barley wine than a dark IPA, though IMO. 13.5% alcohol is very well hidden in this baby.
It is also good to see that an Irish, high ABV%, speciality beer doesn't have to cost the earth!

They haven't put a foot wrong yet.

Haven't heard of this though, is in on tap around Cork or is it bottled?

Their mini-keg was a tremendous waste of money. Nice beer beer though, despite the terrible execution.

Galway Bay's Stormy Port and Eight Degrees Knockmealdown Porter; had them both over the weekend. While neither were that bad, I won't be buying either again. Just very average, with far better out there.

Brooklyn Dark Chocolate Stout; Oh my what a drink! Dark and strong at 10%, a real beauty.

Pint of Ruthless Rye IPA on tap in Bray. Perfectly fine, although not quite as much bite as I remember it having.

Bottle of Jaipur from Thornbridge. Have loved this for a long time, although I'm clearly turning into an unpleaseable cynic as these days I am finding it just a TOUCH watery on the finish:o

Nice weekend of beer attending the NHC competition in Cork, had Blacks KPA and Black IPA, Orval, Schneider Weisse Meine Porterweisse, Fran Well Hopfenweisse then a few disappointing Fran Well beers.

Got back to Dublin and had a few pints of the old reliable Metalman Pale Ale, christ I miss this stuff in Derry. Got to check out the Headline for the first time as well, very impressed with the place and glad to hear it's going well for them.

Gose, a colab brew by BPBP and some danish brewery-a new favourite of mine. I will be buying a few more of these, spontaneous fermented but with corinder and salt added.

Amber ella on cask, also brilliant.

Retried rustbucket-quite nice and something slighty different but woudnt be my style of choice

Had the amber and the porter from j.w. Sweetmans, both very solid beers and a steal at 4.50. That place has really stepped its game up.

Is the amber an IPA? I can see a Pale Ale on their website but no mention of Amber.

No, it's a seasonal. If you've had amber ella it's like that but not that good. I'd put it above the Galway bay offering, but not by much.
