After the BPBP Oxman brown ale, I switched to Hopus.

It seems to be like Duvel, a strong Belgian golden ale???

It didn't do much for me to be honest, but maybe that's just me.

And at 6.50 for 33cl, it was not a good deal.

I regretted not sticking with the Oxman ale.

The makers of Hopus should be done under the the trade descriptions act.

I've an old favourite S&N Double Stout and a couple of cans of Murphy's for the football tomorrow. No idea why I prefer to drink stout while watching football, or why Murphy's from a can appeals to me, but I like it!

Founders Breakfast Stout...the greatest stout of all time?

From where I'm sitting; hell yes.

****ing amazing stuff, I'd love to try on draft one day, if they do it?

Having a brewdog chocolate stout at the moment, quite nice.

Guinness foreign extra. As a long time guinness drinker (before realising that it's fairly tasteless blandness), I'm quite impressed with it.

I also have a special export for comparison.

Pretty sure it still won't be in founder's territory though!

Dungarvan beers are on special in Sweeney's at the moment. As a result, I'm working my way through a few bottles of their Chocolate and Oatmeal Stout. Pretty enjoyable, nice heavy feel that I like at this time of year.

I just managed to buy the last bottle of Dungarvan Coffee and Oatmeal Stout in a pub in Wexford. The bar-girl apologised that it hadn't been in the fridge. :pac: It is lovely. :)

    How much?

    How much?

Knowing Sweeneys something like €3.50 each or €13.99 for four. I find it to be rather expensive indeed.

Kinnegar's Yannaroddy porter is pretty good. 3 for €10 in Londis, not amazing value, but decent. Grabbed the IPA and Rye, too.

Had the Kinnegar IPA last night and was impressed.
Also had the Independent Brewery Red Ale. Nice beer and the carbonation was spot on.

I bought a Fuller's Vintage Ale and there was a dead fly in the box :/

Might be good luck. I'll be keeping that one for another time, although it is Paddy's day and I've the night off...

Its a 'nitro stout' in the vein of the Left Hand one. You are supposed to pour these extra vigorously to form the nitro head. It says it on the bottle.

You're supposed to poor the bottle like this:

    Otherwise it'll appear dead flat.
Not a bad stout, had one last night.

In fairness, I had a bottle of it on Saturday and did the "vigorous pour" at a height of about 2 feet and got nothing, just a few initial suds. I thought the flavours were lovely but the total lack of carbonation ruined it a bit for me.

Tribute has far less carbonation that London Pride when it's bottled, in my opinion anyway.
They're both bloody great drinks though!

Hey lads, has anyone seen tribute around recently? Tesco had it on their flyer for 4 for €9, but when I went there they only had the stronger Proper Job. Same on the tesco site.

Yep I saw it in Tesco Finglas two weeks ago.
The Spar in Pennyhill in Lucan is also selling St. Austell's Doombar as well.

Picked up a bottle of Bru Dubh in Super Valu (currently 4 for 10 on a number of irish craft beers, excellent value).
Apparently its a nitro bottled stout and has the 'poor hard' instructions on the bottle. I really like Left hand nitro stout, so curious to see how this one fairs.

Anyone know if the 4 for €10 is still on?

Cool, was hoping they hadn't phased it out. Need a few for the oul wedding

Finally got to try Tart of Darkness by The Bruery in Brewdog Shoreditch. Excellent spicy sour stout. Very tart but avoids connotations of vinegar. If you're into sours, share a bottle with a friend when over for a visit, it's worth it!

Loads of Tribute in Mahon, Cork if you're anywhere near there. :) You'll get 2 for €5 until tonight AFAIK.
