Shaving pubic hair

On guys, I would only sleep with a guy I knew pretty well already so that would have definitely have come up in conversation beforehand. I would expect him to be well groomed. Little/no underarm hair, no shoulder hair, little/no chest hair and smooth/tightly groomed pubes. It would definitely be a deal breaker going to get intimate with some young fella and finding out he was a rug. I don't think I could sleep with someone who didn't groom. The thoughts of it is actually turning my stomach.

    :/

I've never been with a guy that shaves his pubic hair. That seems very er...womanly.

I was, the stubble can get very irritating when it starts to grow back. Trimmed yes, shaved no!

I've got a girlfriend and we both shave, sometimes I find the shaving a bit uncomfortable so then I just trim, but keep it very short.

I don't like to go down on a girl with a lot of pubic hair to be honest, though I don't mind if it is trimmed, all of the hair doesn't have to be removed.

When I was going out with men none of them shaved and I didn't mind that much, it is just more annoying to give someone a lick out if they have a big bush.

Edited to say that I don't shave because I feel pressured by society and nor does she, it is my preference and hers too. Even when I was single I shaved sometimes because I just felt hairy/ungroomed if I leave the bush grow!

Disagree with her if you wish - that's your opinion. But there's no need to judge a man who shaves as "womanly", you shouldn't be judged for your ladygardening (or lack of) and neither should the hypothetical man.

Why people are so obsessed with judging others PUBIC HAIR is beyond me. Surely it's only an issue for you if you're going to be intimate with the person concerned? Everyone has preferences and that's fine, they shouldn't be admonished or slagged for it.

Personally I don't care either way. I think if you're in relationship with someone, body hair is irrelevant. Well it is to me anyway....shaved or not....it wouldn't be a deal breaker.

I like to let my ladygarden grow until I can plait it and use 90s style scrunchies.

    Okay, woah. My opinion.

I genuinely didn't know men shave down there. Couldn't imagine it myself. Never came across it so just sounds a bit strange. And can't see it as being very attractive. But if my boyfriend decided he wanted to shave I'm sure it wouldn't impact my opinion on him much..because it's just hair.

For the record I am hairless, but been that way since I was young for womanly personal hygiene reasons...and I've very little body hair anyway!

    Hygiene reasons??

    Do people not wash?

If that's the case, why aren't we all bald on our heads?

Why don't we shave/rip out every bit of hair in our ears and nostrils aswell.

Part of the definition of a mammal is"an organism with a body covering of hair.

We are MEANT to have it.

    That's why if grows back!

I trim the 'backboard' down regular enough and give the balls a clean shave maybe 3 times a year. Has to be done especially in with the heat I work in.

With girls I like a landing strip myself, no other reason than it looks better and its sexy as hell!

Agreed, but you can state your preference without stating your disgust at the opposite. I hope people are not so blunt in person - it's just hair and skin, and if you want everything "perfect", you're doing it wrong. :) One of my best encounters was with a man who trimmed my hair himself, slowly and with a look of great concentration on his face. (*Purrs) One of my worst was being told I should shave it all off.

Well yeah that's pretty much my point. :) It's 100% subjective and no one should be made feel bad for the way they choose to keep theirs, regardless of perceived "norms". Ya know what's normal? Keeping your body in a state that you feel comfortable and sexy in, whatever that may be!

Hate when women shave entirely, hate the landing strip, and all of that - prefer when its either natural, or a trimmed natural look. That's just me.

okay guys, lets keep the hair on!!!

Well I mean you could say that about cutting your hair, cutting your nails, etc. I think bare or landing strip looks weird (but it does not look child-like - that's quite a thing to say to people who prefer it bald/very minimal; a grown woman's hoohaa looks different to a child's with or without hair) but excessive, if the hair is dark (because that tends to be thicker) just feels uncomfortable.

I regularly shave the yoghurt slinger, chest and lower back, on the other hand I prefer the missus with the hairy bush turkey.

Why would you get rid of a lovely hairy chest?

Personally, I wax because I prefer being smooth. I find it more comfortable, very little to do with sex as I'm smooth whether I'm seeing someone or not. On the other hand I absolutely favor a hairy man.

Exactly and why would fella's do that? Id say keeping your chest smooth is a pain in the bollox!

I'm a fella and the work involved is just to much!

On the hygiene/smell thing, if two women, one shaved and one hairy step freshly out of the shower, you're right, hair down there isn't an issue. After a night out, dancing a bit in a club, maybe using the toilet a couple of times throughout the night and wiping yourself off with dry toilet paper after... There's a definite difference. Shaved is absolutely more hygienic/ less prone to smelling unpleasant under 'real world test conditions'.

I think you're right about no hair being less prone to smelling but I think when it comes to bacteria etc, having hair is actually better. Part of why its there is to stop germs and bacteria reaching the vagina and causing nasty **** in your nether regions. Without hair to "catch" the bacteria it will spread to the vagina where it is the ideal area for it to thrive because its warm and moist and it will cause infections, and then if you have infections you're prob gonna smell anyway.

    Sexy.

Reading that has completely turned me off the idea of going down on a woman during a ONS.

Doesn't a Brazilian leave some hair where as a Hollywood removes everything ?

I dunno, I'm not saying you're wrong about the bacterial function of the hair but dont think it's necessary, every gf I've had has shaved or waxed and none ever had any issues with infections in my time with them. Washing seems to control it well enough.

Yeah, I've been shaving or waxing since i was fourteen, aand bar a bout of thrush caused by being on a tonne of medication once when I was a teenager, I've never had infections. Hell, I don't even have problems with ingrown hairs. Although apparently not getting ingrown hairs makes me very lucky

Like the above poster, been keeping things under control there for years, since I was very young, and ingrown hairs is about the worst that it gets.

I shave very rarely. It's a pain to do, with the contortionism and the inevitable nicking of the skin with the razor. Sure it looks good, for about 48 hours. Then come the ingrown hairs and it starts to velcro me into my knickers.

I was with a guy who completely shaved once and I never would again; it was like riding a piece of sandpaper. There's a reason you have hair that lines up with a girl's fun button, guys!

Every man I've ever had naked has been well trimmed, I think. There's been so many of them though, I couldn't be sure. My current piece does his pretty well.
