If anyone wants to see anything else ask me, I'll see what I can rustle up.

I'll stick up the league table when it's complete on the Astro site.

    excellent season overall -
    • league winners with 43 points, 8 ahead of second.
    • best defence with 18 goals conceded all season.
    • top scorer in Derek with 15 goals.
    • joint most clean sheets with 8 (we should still get this, either they will share it or give it to the team with least goals conceded surely).

10 game unbeaten run up to the game we won the league was as good as it gets.

There's a Best Defence and a Best Goalkeeper, I've no idea how best GK is determined.

Obviously we get the league winning trophy and medals, and Derek gets his award for top goalscorer.

Best Defence is a team effort really, and best GK might be decided by the referees or something, so I doubt we'd be getting that, as the refs hate us. :)

Then what's best defence? least goals conceded?

yep....unless they changed it, but its been like this for years.

Ah right, I thought one year we got best defence, and we had most clean sheets too, but Clay didn't get the keeper award.

Class job on tracking and presenting all the stats Des. They make for some impressive reading. I'm confident we wouldn't have lost either of the 2 dead-rubber games had there been anything really at stake for us in either of those games. When you take those out of the equation, the Win-rate looks even more impressive. Remarkable consistency in terms of results, even when not playing to our best, that was the difference with previous seasons.

Only conceding 18 goals is excellent, definitely think best defence and goalkeeper awards are deserved. Derek's 15 goals is even more impressive when you see it was achieved in only 12 games: 1.25 goals per game ratio, quality.

The main area for improvement the results highlight is the need to spread the burden on goal-scoring: Derek & Dave contributed 81% of the goals scored and were the only 2 to score more than 2 goals. Midfield were excellent this season and the key to getting on top in many games, but we always need to focus on what can be improved, so a takeaway is we need central-midfielders getting to each of the box for cutbacks to grab a few goals, and get wingers on the scoreboard more too.

Anyway, has been a pleasure lads and I'm looking forward to celebrating it at the awards night and buying Des a pint in thanks for his continued dedication to the team.

that league went down to the wire though, we'd this league won with 9 points still to play for and id like to think that we'd have picked up at least 7 points as opposed to just 3 in the last 3 games, if we needed to....

a quick look through the other leagues around us shows only 2 teams out of 60, have conceded less goals than us (1 & 2 less) and they actually have a game still to play.

even in the top leagues where offsides and sliding tackles are played theres only a couple of teams who have conceded less.

at the moment, our points total of 43 is the highest of any team in all 8 leagues. Dereks tally of 15 goals makes him the joint 3rd top scorer in the entire 8 leagues.
