Remember him from years ago. But to refresh my memory just watched a couple of youtube bits.

There's just no getting away from the fact he's a racist in the truest sense of the word. It's what he's about. His raison d'être.

Whether you agree with him or not that's a different argument. But the racist thing is cut and dry.

    Dont think
In this day and age he would be allowed to be racist on screen

    Dice Clay is totally different

Old fashioned bigot I never found funny.

Whereas Michael McIntyre for example can be fcukin hilarious without offending anyone.

    They're both arseholes.

Since when did mincing back and forth across the stage yammering in a snotty accent at 100 mph like a friggin' Etonian homosexual on cheap speed become funny?

I'm not a prude bit if you have to rely on that level of vulgarity in an attempt to be funny..... Don't bother!!
Thinking in particular of "I'd use her s..t for toothpaste..." Nah doesn't do it for me!!!

MM is he even a comedian. Never found him funny and so do a lot of my friends

    Once again... I lolled. :o

The Missus reckons he's hilarious too, she's got much more brains than me, so maybe he is. She's white and fit though..

It's toilet humour, definitely, but the audacity of him is hilarious. Good in small doses. Can't be taking ourselves too seriously now.

Nah, it's knuckle dragging, spittle spraying racism. How the fùck is that good in small doses?

I'm a bit surprised some of it is even legal tbh.

I find some of the sexism stuff funny and I'd be fairly feminist leaning when it comes to some issues. It's not the jokes themselves, it's, as said, his sheer audacity. You know the way when someone old says something vulgar - the fact that they said it at all is what's hilarious.

"Brush my teeth with her pubic hair"
    Yeah.....hilarious

If you go to a comedy show you should have a fair idea what you're getting before you go.

Roy Chubby Brown reputation precedes him and those who don't want to be offended by a comedian should know better

Laughter is a reflex action. I remember listening to an old Mike Reid tape and being a little annoyed with myself for laughing at one of the Irish man jokes that made up his routine. But in that split second I did find it funny.

Even your man from Phoenix Nights does a Pakistani shop keeper bit during his stand up that's a bit dodgy.

    Not at all.

But I'm pretty sure he needs legal advice on his act as it sails very close to the wind with regard to incitement to hatred from the little I've watched.

I'm not offended by it either. But I can certainly see why millions of people would be. He is after all denigrating all non white people in the basest of terms and with a total lack of irony in his own ignorance.

He lumps Indians and Pakistanis in the same pile. All the one to him shur.

He's actually gas. Stinking rotten odious little fùcker!

The thing is he's not funny. At least not the songs he does like 'the gollywog song' and 'I am asylum seeker'.

It's not like he's some clever rapier wit of the EDL. Just watch some of it.

Or maybe I'm just an old stick in the mud. Need to lighten up a bit.

I'm only saying I'm surprised he gets away with some of it under incitement to hatred.

It's not a personal condemnation but an observation. I'm sure he has it down to a very fine art at this stage, staying on the very edge of the legal morasse and avoiding getting hauled up for it.

Which I suppose is clever in a way.

Personally I don't find Roy funny at all.

Its not so much the stereotyping as its the snide undertone to his performance that makes me think he really believes it. Jim Davidson has that same hateful vibe about him - especially when the topic of women crops up.

On the flip side I caught a bit of Stewart Lee's stand up show on BBC the other week. Very right on but painfully unfunny for the most part.

stewart lee is insufferably self satisfied

he,s the Morrissey of stand up

Davidson came across ok on the recent celeb big brother , better than the cows he had nagging him for three weeks

I'd love to have a button on my keyboard that when pressed would cause him to wake up the following morning as a black, homosexual, muslim, pikey. Don't know about the rest of ye, but I'd be laughing for a long time to come afterwards.

The funniest part of Chubby is his support of Middlesbrough which would entitle him to free entry into the unicellular organism club of Geordieland.

Calling Chubby a geordie would get a very interesting response from Chubby. Very interesting indeed.:D
    Ballistic.

I saw one of his shows on one of the sky channels a few years ago, he wasn't funny at all IMO.

I'd heard of him previously and knew what his show was about, as someone else said if you feel the material will offend then don't go to see it.

I disagree with censorship and this thing of banning things, we had enough of that here for decades, Church and Government telling us what we could and couldn't see and read.
