I regularly shave the yoghurt slinger, chest and lower back, on the other hand I prefer the missus with the hairy bush turkey.

Why would anyone in their right mind shave their genitals? When did our natural states become so repulsive?

The thought of a stubbly vagina/balls just makes me shudder.

I think guys should trim not shave. Bald just looks weird to me.

It's a personal choice and I don't really care either way but I hate the idea that having any kind of bush these days is weird or dirty, get over it!!

The 'more hygienic' line is BS, there's hair there for a reason, as a protective layer protect the genitalia from getting infected, etc.

The looks better thing is a matter of preference. I think shaved looks gross and porn star-ish.

Have there not been multiple articles that have said that the cases of crabs have decreased dramatically since the Brazilian and other pubic styles have become fashion? If this is the case, then does it not effectively say that it is, indeed, more hygienic?

On a similar note, the cases of headlice among college age and high school students has arisen with the rise of the "selfie" culture.

No different to shaving your legs or armpits tho.

Especially if you wear a dress that has your fanny on full view.

Well there's been one anecdotal study done which suggests no hair = decrease in pubic lice!

    Nyom Nyom Nyom.

It will be on full view to your partner. so...

    do you wash your hair?

Are you talking about the hair on my head or the hair down below?

The answer is the same for either though, yes I wash myself regularly, using homemade soap.

I don't really see washing yourself as being the same thing though. If somebody wants to wax, then thats their decision, it shouldn't be some sort of expectation set by society that women should be hairless.

Shaving just seems ridiculous though, seriously, how is a stubbly vagina comfortable?

It just looks better its not like I'm doing it because i'm uncomfortable. Same could be said about other areas.

Not sure about hygiene tbh but I did hear that waxing can lead to some nasty skin infections and some STIs such as molluscum etc., the waxing can tear the skin and its then more likely to get infected or some such, and then contaminated tools and wax/double dipping, its all pretty gross.

But I think either way if a woman is washing properly then she's gonna be clean whether bald or hairy, it can just seem cleaner for the person if there isn't hair.

Also, I do wish people would stop assuming women only wax for men and to appear a certain way for men. Even if I'm not seeing anyone or expecting to sleep with anyone I still get regular waxes, its a personal choice, now if I knew I'd be sleeping with someone yes i would ensure I had a wax but its not a case of "this man wants me bald/with a landing strip/whatever so I must go and get waxed" its that I want to look and feel my best which imo is well groomed. Same as showering, shaving legs, brushing teeth and hair etc.

I think waxing/Shaving can also cause ingrown hairs in the genital area, which can be very painful, especially if they then become infected.

Completely shaved punani just looks -well, wrong to me. Btw, why the hating on Mikom because he (correctly) pionted out that it looks like a child? Insecure much?

Maybe because it doesn't? Do women who shave under their arms look like children too?

A childs genetalia will look different to a waxed womans. Puberty causes some noticetable differences. Look at your own bits and compare them to when you were a child.

But surely having no hair, down there, is associated with being pre-pubescent?

As is having no hair on your legs and underarms.
Or no beard on a man.

You could say the same about a hair-free male face - do you confuse adult men for boys?

Actually, I know quite a few men who can't grow beards, so having a hair free face isn't purely an age based thing.

My point is that why do we feel the need to make ourselves look more like we did before we hit puberty? Is it part of our obsession with youth maybe? I dunno!

I used to shave my legs very regularly, because that is what I thought women did. It was expected of me to shave my legs and if I didn't I would have been taken the piss out of at school for it.
Then I thought, why is there an expectation for me to do it? Whats the purpose? So now, although I still do, its only occasionally.

You're not legally obliged to do it, it's a personal preference. If you like having body hair go for it.

Yeah I'm well aware of that. But this is a discussion forum, where we can discuss the why's and what for's of life.

I'm curious as to why people do it. I'm not condemning others for it.

Errr..... It helps... I'm not holding you down and making you take it!

I wasn't speaking about you in particular. I know lots of people who take them before a waxing session. I find that mad. Other people don't.

I like to give the woman an option so I shave one ball.

Why does it have to be an "obsession" or "making ourselves look a certain way", some girls prefer smooth bodies with no hair in some places, some don't care. There doesn't have to be some obsession behind it or a societal issue / thought process behind it. Some women wear red lipstick/straighten their hair/paint their nails, we don't question their logic behind it or evaluate how society has influenced their decision- its their body the can do whatever they like to it and it isn't always to please men/bow down to pressure.
