Apart from Damien O'Reilly who would have been the other candidates?

It's been vacant for a few years so there mustn't have been candidates knocking down the door for the job. George will do a good job I'm sure.

Surly there must be plenty of ag journalists who have the passion and understanding of farming rather than the man who liked nothing better than predicting car crash economic futures for Ireland before the bust.I can see his first piece will be on dairy expansion 2015 run for cover lads and lassies . Lol

Milk if yiou could get her to drink it. If you could get a cud from another cow down her neck. It sounds like her rumen has shut down.

    My moneys on pneumonia aswell,

Ring the vet and tell him to come out to the cow or can he give you a number for a proper vet.

Hard to know. She's not blowing or anything ate straw and maybe a kg of calf's meal. I'll ring him again and see what he says. He lives 40 min away so has other calls to tend too aswell

Still though.....he's a vet, you're the paying customer along with all the others.
