Bridge Mode > Homeplug > Homeplug > Router?

Just wanted to check if this was a possible chain setup. I have an F1000 Eircom router in one room, where the phone RJ11 is. I have a homeplug next to it.

What I'd like to do is buy an Asus RT-AC68U and have the router in another room in the house. So ideally the setup would be:

Eircom Router (Bridge Mode) > Devolo Homeplug (Room 1) > Devolo Homeplug (Room 2) > Asus RT-AC68U Router

    Would that work?

It would in theory work just your throughput would be much lower to the Asus. Depending on home wiring of course.

    Even with gigabit homeplugs?

No such thing. Switching speeds reported mean very little, real world throughput is usually up about 100Mb in good conditions.

    I was looking at these:

Hmm. It's a shame the Asus RT-AC68U isn't wall mountable.

That's true. I bought these http://www.amazon.co.uk/PLA5205-600Mbps-Powerline-Gigabit-Ethernet/dp/B00E5HCR1O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395238184&sr=8-1&keywords=zyxel+gigabit+homeplugs and I am getting 120Mb on my UPC connection. I think it's literally just a spur socket between the 2 home plugs though.
