Hey guys, so in this "vehicle sale" part of the logbook I mistakenly wrote 05/02/14 instead of 05/03/14 and now I need to pay 95e arrears according to the Motor Tax website

If I go down to the local tax office and explain to them what happened, will they let me off the 95 quid?

Ah **** Sobanek that's crap, I would definitely go down and plead my case anyway. But I don't know the outcome, it's possible their hands are tied. Maybe try Shannon?

I'll try my motor tax office first and if they don't have good news for me, I'll try to ring Shannon. If they don't have good news for me either, I'll just pay the 95e.

*cnuts will have to wait until Friday as I have to fill up my car*

Unless the seller had it insured or some other way of showing they still owned it till you bought it I cant imagine you being successful. I'm sure they get spun all kinds of yarns every day from people looking to scam them. In the end all that achieves is to **** it up for the genuine people who get lumped in with the scammers.

I would have thought that Shannon was your only option here to get this sorted. The tax office will only go by what is on the logbook, and if that is wrong then they will tell you to go to Shannon to get it sorted. I wouldnt even waste my time dealing with the tax office on this matter tbh.
