    Lord Windermere

I can't have him, even after I know the result

People will say that but its nonsense. He won a stink RSA, has been getting hammered all year, even when on decent ground, and was outpaced there. Sychronised all over again

Only excuse is Cullotys form but even then

Lord Windermere will never win a gold cup, ever. Fact.

I'd be surprised if he ever won another race.

History said Bobs could not win, Lord Wind is obviously a 2nd year progressive chaser, he is only 8?

Tammys Hill just saved my day.

Best Mate was the last in 30 years to retain it.

Yeah, so its been done, history said he could retain, exact opposite of what you said. Urban Cheltenham is over now, time for a quick clear out of these clowns

Yeh,yeah, I know nothing about Horse Racing

Never seen such a freakish festival day in my life. Anyone who got out with their wallet intact, fairplay.

With 5/6 horses within a couple of lengths of each other, it'll have to go down as a very poor Gold Cup.

With the loss of star chasers and the unfortunate way the Champion panned out (Jezki backers aside), it was a poor Cheltenham imo.

It's also a pity that the great Boards Festival of Aftertiming has come to an end too! :D

I can't believe I just put 50 quid each way on Lord Windermere to win a gold cup

Last Instalment has messed his legs again, they're retiring him

Can't believe they ran him, I thought it was 1.01 they wouldn't after Tuesday

    Shades of Pandorama.

Pity to hear that, especially as they worked so hard and spent so long getting him right again. Unfortunately that's always a risk with horses who have had leg problems.

From a backers view, it was great he was running but there was always the doubt in the back of my mind that he shouldn't have been. As I said beforehand, if the horse wasn't as good as he was, they wouldn't have ran him. They couldn't resist the prize on offer, rolled the dice but unfortunately poor horse paid the price.

I suppose they thought they might not get him back here again and if they did the ground could have been even more unsuitable, so they decided to take the chance while it was there.

Sad it turned out like that :(

Followers of Nick Mordin certainly believe.

Lord Windermere tipped up by the great man with The Giant Bolster for a place (AND On His Own to win a grade 1 before he was declared for the GC)

Bastards I had Ned. Cracked open a can now.

    Nice old fashioned touch

Old fashioned from the point of view that he was beaten a combined total of 110 lengths in his last 4 runs and then pops up to win one of the most competitive 2 mile handicap chases of the season? Don't we just love Tony Martin?

No wonder Ted Veale wasn't running in that race.
